SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego business legend Frank Fornaca died Wednesday at the age of 94.Fornaca's father started a family bakery in San Diego in 1912. More than 50 years later, the Fornacas went into the car business.The family still runs Frank Toyota, Subaru, and Hyundai. The dealerships are known for their catchy phrase, "Is that you, Frank?"Fornaca suffered from congestive heart failure. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are asking for the public’s help locating a man suspected of threatening a Target employee with a razor during a robbery.Police say the incident happened around 10 a.m. on March 25 at the Target on the 1200 block of Camino Del Rio North.According to police, a loss prevention officer noticed a man inside the store he recognized from previous encounters.Police say the man grabbed three memory cards and attempted to remove them from their cases.After removing one of the memory cards and placing it in his pocket, the man was confronted by the officer who followed him to the exit.The suspect then threatened the officer with a folding razor knife he removed from his waistband.The suspect is described as a six-foot tall 28-year-old white male wearing a tan colored long-sleeve dress shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.Anyone with information is asked to call San Diego Police at 619-531-2299. 951

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Residents are being evacuated after a gas leak in City Heights Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, the gas leak happened on the 3600 block of 36th Street. Crews working in the area hit the gas line, causing the leak. It's unclear at this time how many residents are being evacuated.  337

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego is getting its first round of Pfizer vaccines to fight the coronavirus next week, but the vaccine is recommended for those 16 years and older.Many parents are concerned about what that means for their children and going back to school."Essentially the Pfizer vaccine wasn't studied in kids under 12 but we are going to see more study in them," Dr. Abi Olulade, with Sharp Family Medicine said.While Pfizer is working on a child-safe vaccine, their competitor Moderna started testing their vaccine on 12-17-year-olds Thursday.Dr. Olulade sees the newly approved Pfizer vaccine as a lifeline, "we have a weapon now in the war against this virus and we're all breathing a huge sigh of relief."The vaccine a relief for our healthcare system swamped with coronavirus patients.When a shot is approved and safe for kids, Dr. Olulade said it's important parents have their kids vaccinated."Vaccines have a very long and proven safety record in kids," Dr. Olulade said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego court records show a history of legal disputes with Clark Construction Group, the company that employed the worker who died in yesterday’s accident on a construction site at UC San Diego.10News found a court complaint over the 2017 death of a driller. Frederick Von Kahl's family sued Clark Construction and other defendants for negligence, alleging they created a dangerous workplace at a San Ysidro job site which reportedly caused a valve to strike Kahl in his chest.Friday afternoon, Kahl family attorney Benjamin Bunn said that the case just recently moved into a settlement agreement. He said that Kahl had been married for 40 years.The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) website revealed that it issued violations and a ,260 fine. In another negligence case, a worker sued Clark Construction Group and other defendants over a 2010 accident at the San Diego Marriot & Marina Hotel, claiming that a large piece of concrete dropped through a roof and struck a worker's body and right arm. The case was later dismissed.There's also a negligence suit that settled after a 91-year-old woman reportedly suffered broken bones from a fall while walking by a downtown construction site that she claimed was unsafe.The Division of Occupational Safety and Health of California (Cal/OSHA) has done at least 10 investigations into the company in the last 10 years. A Cal/OSHA spokesperson said Thursday that most of the investigations involve complaints from workers reporting unsafe conditions, with no violations issued.
