As always, when it comes to the markets, the real answer is complicated.The Dow fell by more than 600 points on Monday, dragged down by investors' concerns about the tech sector and the rising dollar. The Nasdaq fell 2% and the broader S&P 500 fell 1.2%.Apple (AAPL) fell 5% after supplier Lumentum cut its earnings and sales forecast because of weak demand, and JPMorgan cut its target price on Apple's stock. That weighed on other technology stocks, including Amazon (AMZN) and Tesla (TSLA) -- down 4% -- as well as Facebook, which fell 3%. Google (GOOGL), Netflix (NFLX) and Microsoft (MSFT) were all down more than 2%.The strong dollar also weighed on stocks. The court struck down a lower-court ruling.The process had already been used in the primary and the 2018 midterm. Governor Paul LePage protested the results from the 2018 election, and threatened not to certify the results. In Maine’s House District 2, Democrat Jared Golden won the election despite not receiving a plurality of first-choice votes. Golden ended up garnering a majority after two independent candidates were eliminated.Maine is also unique as it is only one of two US states that divvy up Electoral College votes based on congressional districts. The waste eventually flows into sewer systems, which scientists will now collect.“We can then take a sample at a wastewater plant and send it to a lab,” he said.Labs at places like Metropolitan State University of Denver.“One of the advantages of this approach is that everybody in the community makes a contribution to the sewage,” said Rebecca Ferrell, Ph.D., a biology professor at MSU Denver.She says that when people get infected with COVID-19, they often shed the virus for several days before showing symptoms.
