At the Denny’s along US 1 in Port St. Lucie, is one customer everyone knows.Not a lot of people turn 100, and not a lot of people eat at the same place day after day, for decades.Sister Marie Alice Lagace was greeted with a rendition of Happy Birthday on the trumpet Tuesday.“She always has a kind word and a gentle way of always making you feel good," said Denny's General Manager Maurice Warrington.Port St. Lucie Mayor Greg Oravec offered a proclamation and a funny gift — a ruler with the city logo.But the biggest honor would be fixed to her usual booth in back, a booth now renamed for her.“I just love it and I find the beauty in all of these people," Lagace said.Parishioners from Holy Family Catholic Church take turns driving her here, and they can’t take her anywhere else.“Some of them ask me, 'We’re going to eat somewhere,  you coming with us?' Nope. I’m coming here," Lagace said.She orders the same thing every day: one egg, a piece of toast, grape jelly and coffee — although Tuesday, cake was the substitute. Parishioners who ask her the secret to a healthy, long, life get a simple answer.“Love God, smile, relax," said Aleen Stanton with Holy Family. Sister Marie Alice has been on mission trips around the globe. As the world waits for deliveries of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine, the pharmaceutical company is having to adjust their target after hitting supply chain obstacles, according to the Wall Street Journal.“Scaling up the raw material supply chain took longer than expected,” a company spokeswoman told the WSJ.Pfizer and partner BioNTech SE had hoped to ship out 100 million doses of their vaccine by the end of the year, that has now reportedly been cut to estimates of about 50 million.Two doses are needed for each person to be vaccinated.Pfizer did not elaborate on where the raw material shortfalls happened. They did say some raw materials in early production earlier this year did not meet their standards and they had to fix the issue.After the WSJ’s report, Pfizer’s stock price dropped and the S&P 500 fell slightly.The United Kingdom has granted emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine, and is expected to start administering doses soon. The FDA in the U.S. is considering a similar authorization, which could come later in December.As part of Operation Warp Speed, the U.S. Government has purchased 100 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine, with an option to buy more.Roughly 20 million of those doses were expected by the end of the year once the FDA granted emergency use authorization. No word on how Pfizer’s shipping delays could impact this number.Pfizer says their production lines in the U.S. and Europe are complete and they are “confident” they will supply the targeted number of doses in early 2021. 1524

Authorities have identified a Facebook post believed to have been made by the gunman who killed 12 people at a bar in California, a law enforcement official said.Ian Long, 28, burst into the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks and opened fire with a Glock .45-caliber handgun as patrons line-danced late Wednesday night.Long is believed to have posted the social media message around the time of the attack, according to the official, who is familiar with the investigation.In it, the writer says: "I hope people call me insane ... Attorneys general from several states plan to jointly file new antitrust litigation against Facebook in the coming days, according to reports from CNBC and the Wall Street Journal.According to CNBC, as many as 40 states are expected to join New York in suing the social media giant. The report also says that the Federal Trade Commission could file a separate but related complaint in district court.While the specifics of the pending lawsuit are unclear, Facebook has been criticized for swallowing up competitors, like Instagram and WhatsApp for fairly reasonable prices.The pending lawsuit would mark the second significant piece of legislation filed against a Silicon Valley giant in recent months. At least three people were killed and a dozen others injured Tuesday after gunfire erupted near a Christmas market in the center of the French city of Strasbourg, French authorities said.Strasbourg police said an armed person entered the perimeter of the Christmas market by the Corbeau Bridge around 8 p.m., heading toward the Rue des Orfèvres.
