A man is in custody after he tried to enter St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York on Wednesday night with gallons of gasoline, lighter fluid and lighters, authorities said.When a security officer at the cathedral stopped the 37-year-old man, he left the church and was detained shortly after by counterterrorism officers, NYPD's John Miller said at a news conference.The man, who is from New Jersey and is known to police, spilled some of the gasoline as the security officer stopped him in the church and forced him to turn around, Miller said."It's hard to say exactly what his intentions were but I think the totality of circumstances of an individual walking into an iconic location like St. Patrick's Cathedral, carrying over four gallons of gasoline, two bottles of lighter fluid and lighters is something we would have great concern over," Miller said.Before entering the church, the man retrieved the items from a minivan he had parked near the church, Miller said. The NYPD swept that vehicle and did not find any additional materials.The man initially told officers he was cutting through the cathedral to get to Madison Avenue and that his car had run out of gas, but Miller said when officers checked his car, it had gas.The man has not been identified but when he is charged with a crime, police will release his identity, Miller added.Authorities described him as emotionally disturbed but said it's too early to tell what his motive was or whether it's connected to terrorism.Nobody was injured in the incident and police are investigating. A container filled with 90,000 bottles of vodka believed to be for sanctions-hit North Korea has been seized by Dutch customs agents, officials said Tuesday.Three-thousand cases of the spirit were found by officers at the port of Rotterdam aboard a ship owned by China's Cosco Shipping, said Roul Velleman, a spokesman for the Dutch customs agency.Velleman said officers decided to check the container based on a "risk profile" provided by the Foreign Ministry."We follow a risk profile and we had information that this container could be carrying something," Velleman said. "And it was right. A man walked into a California police department Monday and told officers he had killed four people, police say.One of the bodies was in the car the suspect drove to the Mt. Shasta Police Department. His three other victims were in his apartment more than 200 miles away, Roseville Police Department Captain Josh Simon said in a Monday news conference.Roseville officers learned of the man's confession around noon, when they received a call from Mt. Shasta police, who detained the suspect after he came in.Roseville is about 20 miles from Sacramento and about 212 miles from Mt. Shasta.This is an ongoing investigation in coordination with the Mt.
