GLENDALE, AZ — It's official: The San Francisco 49ers will play their next two home games in Arizona after local COVID-19 restrictions prevented them from playing at their home field."The San Francisco 49ers have come to an agreement with the National Football League and Arizona Cardinals which allows the 49ers to host their Weeks 13 and 14 home games against the Buffalo Bills and Washington Football Team at State Farm Stadium in Arizona," the 49ers said Monday in a statement.Over the weekend, California's Santa Clara County announced a number of new COVID-19 restrictions, which banned all sports — professional, collegiate, and youth — and required people to quarantine for two weeks if they traveled 150 miles away.Levi's Stadium, home to the 49ers, is located in Santa Clara County."The Cardinals organization, State Farm Stadium and League officials have been supportive and accommodating as we work through the many logistical issues involved in relocating NFL games," the Arizona Cardinals said in a statement.The Cardinals will host the Los Angeles Rams at State Farm Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 6. Health officials say the U.S. faces an uphill battle in convincing some Americans to take a potential COVID-19 vaccine. While polling shows Americans have been more open to a vaccine in recent months, there is still skepticism in vaccines among non-whites across the country.Experts say that Black people, in particular, remain skeptical of vaccines due to past failings of the U.S. healthcare system, in particular, the Tuskegee syphilis study. But the National Medical Association — a nonprofit representing the interests of Black doctors across the country — is trying to fight that skepticism ahead of the potential authorization of a COVID-19 vaccine."We're already suffering more than other community, and we would hate to see that suffering gap widen because members of our community did not affect to receive a vaccine that could have prevented kidney disease, prevented lung damage from COVID-19," Dr. Leon McDougle, the president of the National Medical Association said.The National Medical Association's task force has been doing its own independent vetting of potential COVID-19 vaccines, and McDougle added they are doing so to ensure that politicians are not influencing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)."We are trusted messengers for health in the Black community," McDougle said. "That's where we live. Gibson Brands has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection amid what the company has called a “devastating” financial fall. The announcement was made Tuesday morning. As part of the filing, the company said it will kill its Innovations unit, which makes Phillips headphones, speakers and other electronic accessories. A federal judge will be required to sign off on the plan. Sixty-nine percent of lenders have given their support, but other vendors could potentially object to the plan and demand liquidation – causing Gibson to go out of business. Gibson has factories in Nashville, Memphis, and Bozeman, Montana. GREELEY, Colo. – Chris Watts was told Tuesday at an advisement hearing in a Weld County courtroom that he faces nine felony counts, including first-degree murder and unlawful termination of a pregnancy, in connection with the deaths of his wife and two daughters in Frederick last week.Watts, 33, faces three counts of first-degree murder after deliberation, two counts of first-degree murder – victim under 12/position of trust, one count of first-degree unlawful termination of a pregnancy and three counts of tampering with a deceased human body.The unlawful termination of a pregnancy charge comes because Shanann Watts was 15 weeks pregnant at the time she was killed. Former Boulder District Attorney Stan Garnett explained the statute in an interview with Denver7 Friday.In court Tuesday, Watts answered questions from the judge of whether he understood the charges against him with short responses of, “Yes sir.”Watts and his attorney waived his right to a preliminary hearing within 35 days and asked for a status conference to be held instead. His attorney and prosecutors agreed that an evidentiary and discovery hearing could be held in the case as well.Prosecutors will have 63 days after Watts' arraignment to decide if they will seek the death penalty in the case. If they do not, Watts would face mandatory life in prison without the possibility of parole if he is convicted on any of the murder charges.Shanann’s father and brother, Frank Rzucek and Frank Rzucek Jr., both attended the hearing. The elder Rzucek was visibly emotional during the hearing; his son comforted him as he buried his head in his hands and wept as the charges against Chris were read.The affidavit for Watts' arrest was ordered unsealed Monday and was released Monday afternoon. It says that he was having an affair that he had previously denied to police, and that he claimed that Shanann had strangled their daughters, Bella and Celeste, after he told her he wanted to separate.Watts was arrested late last Wednesday and has been held without bond ever since.His pregnant wife and daughters, 34-year-old Shanann, 3-year-old Celeste and 4-year-old Bella, were reported missing last Monday by a family friend after Shanann missed a doctor’s appointment.A day after the three were reported missing, Chris Watts gave an interview to Denver7 in which he pleaded for the girls to come home and said he and his wife “had an emotional conversation” before he allegedly last saw her.Shanann’s body was discovered in a field on Anadarko Petroleum Company property. Court documents show her body was found in a "shallow grave near an oil tank." Her daughter’s bodies were discovered concealed within oil tanks nearby, sources told Denver7. Court documents filed late last week show experts were advised the bodies were in tanks filled with crude oil "for several days." Chris Watts had been an Anadarko employee but was fired by the company Wednesday.At a news conference Monday, Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke declined to elaborate on the case beyond the documents that were released.At the same news conference, Rzucek delivered a brief statement: "We would like to thank everyone in the Frederick Police Department and all the agencies involved for working so hard to find my daughter, granddaughters and [unborn child] Nico," Rzucek said. HOOD RIVER, Ore. -- A teenager who started the massive Eagle Creek Fire in Oregon has been ordered to pay more than in restitution, according to KOMO.The judge made the decision Monday. The teen’s attorney argued that the massive restitution would violate Oregon and U.S. constitutions because it would inflict “cruel and unusual punishment.”The Eagle Creek Fire started in September of 2017 and destroyed more than 48,000 acres of forest land in the Columbia River Gorge.The teen was 15 at the time of the fire. According to authorities, the teen was tossing fireworks into brush while hiking on the Eagle Creek Trail. One of the fireworks ignited the fire. 670
