Joy Reid opened her show on MSNBC Saturday with a mea culpa about past homophobic remarks and admitted cybersecurity experts haven't been able to prove her former blog was hacked.Reid reiterated claims that she was not the author of homophobic posts that were recently surfaced from a blog she ran in the 2000s. KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The oldest living U.S. Marine celebrated her 107th birthday over the weekend.The U.S. Marine Corps wished Sgt. Dorothy “Dot” Cole a happy birthday in a special video posted on Facebook on Saturday.The USMC says Cole was born on Sept. 19, 1913 in Warren, Pennsylvania, and enlisted in the Marine Corps after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.“Everyone was out doing something, the women helping The Red Cross or even in churches, they were knitting things, so I decided that I wanted to do something and I would go into the Marine Corps,” said Cole in the video.Cole was part of a female integration into what were considered male-dominated career fields within the Marine Corps during World War II, according to the USMC. That allowed the Marines to free up personnel to fight the war in the Pacific.Cole now lives in Kannapolis, North Carolina, according to the city.Happy 107th Birthday to Dot Cole! Sgt. KEARNY MESA (CNS) - Four men were wanted for robbing a convenience store in Kearny Mesa Sunday, police said.A clerk at the Circle K on Balboa Avenue just east of Interstate 805 was working by herself around 8:45 a.m. Sunday when four men came into the store, looked around and left without making a purchase, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.The four returned about eight minutes later, and one of them pointed a knife at the clerk's abdomen and demanded cigarettes, Heims said. The woman complied, and the men took multiple packs of cigarettes and cigars. The total amount of property stolen was not known, according to Heims.The suspects, all men in their early 20s, were described as:-- 5-feet-7-inches tall, about 160 pounds with black hair and green eyes, wearing a black hoodie with white strings and black pajama pants;-- 5-feet-3-inches tall, heavyset with black hair, wearing a black hoodie with white strings and black pajama pants;-- 5-feet-2-inches tall, about 115 pounds with black hair, also wearing a black hoodie with white strings and black pajama pants;-- and a man of unknown height, with black hair wearing a black and red leather jacket.Robbery detectives were investigating the incident. 1227
