SALEM, Ore. – Oregon voted to legalize psilocybin mushrooms for therapeutic use on Tuesday.A psilocybin is a hallucinogenic chemical obtained from certain types of fresh and dried mushrooms, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).With 81% of votes reported Wednesday morning, 55.8% of the electorate had voted to approve Oregon Measure 109, The Associated Press reports.While some states have decriminalized the so-called “magic mushrooms” or "shrooms," this measure makes Oregon the first state to legalize them.Under the measure, licensed service providers are permitted to administer psilocybin-producing mushroom and fungi products to those 21 years or older. The DEA says it’s often ingested orally, brewed as a tea or added to foods.The measure authorizes the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to create a program to help these licensed providers to administer the products.The measure was backed by war veterans with PTSD, those with terminal illnesses and others who suffer from anxiety or depression, who claim psilocybin helps.Some opponents say science does not yet indicate that psilocybin is a safe medical treatment. 1150

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Three Camp Pendleton Marines were stabbed during a fight Saturday in San Clemente, a sheriff’s official confirms.The fight happened around 1 a.m. Saturday in a parking lot on the 200 block of El Camino Real.The three Marines, two aged 21 and the other a 23-year-old were involved in a fight with two men and a woman.RELATED: Woman finds Marine Corps ring on Florida's Siesta Key, hopes to find ownerDuring the fight, one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed all three Marines. SAN DIEGO — Home construction in the city of San Diego increased in 2019, but is still far off pace to meet the region's high demand for housing.The findings come in a report released Tuesday by the city's planning department.It shows that in 2019 the city issued 5,221 permits for new housing units, up from 3,895 the year before. Still, that's way off pace for any sort of building activity that could help lower the cost of housing. Consider that the city only issued permits for 42,275 housing permits from 2010 to 2019, which is 48 percent of its goal of 88,096. He was last seen wearing black gym shorts, hiking boots, and a green t-shirt with blue sleeves.Jolley is 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. At Reach Yoga in Pacific Beach, owner Alena Snedeker got a violation for holding socially distanced indoor yoga classes as late as Monday. She said she was aware it was no longer allowed, but was doing it as she transitioned to an outdoor location."With being open for two weeks, we can't turn the machine off," she said. "If we turn the machine off, we lose our business forever."Reach Yoga, which did not hold classes Tuesday, will rent outdoor space at the nearby Soledad Club, which it will have to share with a karate studio and church. "A yoga studio runs a lot differently than a bar or a restaurant or a church, so to have the same blanket over every single business. I don't feel that's right," Snedeker said.
