The pandemic is having an impact on the mental health of many Americans. Young people are particularly feeling this with changes in learning and missed milestones.In a new survey of 14 to 24-year-olds, Mental Health America found 24% of those surveyed think training adults would help with their mental health challenges.About 47% said they want to learn more about how to help their own mental health, which is what one new program developed during the pandemic is trying to do.“What we're hearing is that young people are depressed, that they have very little hope for the future, and they want skills to be able to help themselves and their peers,” said Martin Rafferty, CEO and founder of Oregon-based nonprofit Youth Era.The program Uplift by Youth Era is a five-day event and training that is free for young people.“It’s giving them the skillsets to take a look around in their community and say I can be a part of change. The man convicted of killing his pregnant wife and two young daughters in Colorado is likely now in the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. According to media reports, including Radar Online, Chris Watts, 33, was transferred to Dodge County Correctional Institution last week. Watts eventually confessed to killing his pregnant wife and two young daughters in August. He took a plea deal to avoid the death penalty. He was sentenced to five life sentences. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections would not confirm whether Watts is in its custody but released the following statement: "The Department of Corrections is not confirming the location or disclosing the identity of inmates who may have been transferred to Wisconsin under the Interstate Corrections Compact. Questions should be referred to the state correctional agency which transferred the inmate."On the Wisconsin Department of Corrections website, there is a link to send money to inmates. A Chris Watts, with the same date of birth, is listed on the Wisconsin DOC commissary listing. The site only lists Watts as being in the Wisconsin DOC, however, Radar Online says he is specifically being held at the Dodge County Correctional Institution.Dodge County Correctional Institution is the same prison where other notorious killers like Ed Gein, the man who inspired the movie Psycho, have been held. "I'm not able to confirm any information regarding the possible location of inmate Christopher Watts," a Dodge County Correctional Institution spokesperson said.According to the Colorado Department of Corrections, high-profile prisoners can be moved to another state's system for safety reasons under the Interstate Compact. The president of a California university is apologizing to one of his professors and her family after they were allegedly racially profiled on campus.In a thread on social media, Danielle Morgan outlined how officers escorted her brother to her house on campus at Santa Clara University over the weekend. She is an assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences.Morgan recalls that her brother came to the door and said the officers needed her to come out and “vouch for me.” Morgan told CNN she was asked to produce ID to prove who she was and where she lived.“I asked what the issue was and he (the officer) said my brother was ‘in the bushes’ and it was ‘suspicious’ and they thought he may have been homeless. I asked why I needed to show ID at my own home. He said ‘Well, it's not your home. The University owns it,’” Morgan said. 852

The National Weather Service confirmed that two EF-0 tornadoes touched down in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday afternoon.According to the National Weather Service in Miami, one tornado touched down in downtown Fort Lauderdale near Andrews Avenue and NE 5th Street at about 3:34 p.m. The tornado, packing winds of 65 mph, knocked over construction fencing and barriers. A minor tree damage was reported near NE 1st Avenue and NE 4th Street.  The NWS says the tornado touched down south of the Tarpon River in the Rio Vista neighborhood, causing tree damages and minor debris, including trash cans.  637
