A manhunt is on for a gunman who opened fire at an off-campus homecoming party near Greenville, Texas, killing two people and sending 14 more to area hospitals, police said Sunday.The party may involve a Texas A&M University-Commerce fraternity, though the event was not sanctioned by the school, Chief Deputy Buddy Oxford of the Hunt County Sheriff's Office said.Gunshots rang out about 11:45 p.m. (12:45 a.m. ET) Saturday at The Party Venue, an event space located on a sparsely populated stretch of Highway 380. Greenville is a city of 27,000 located 50 miles northeast of Dallas.Authorities first responded to complaints of vehicles parked along the highway, Oxford said, and the shooting began about 15 minutes after they arrived.Investigators have yet to establish a motive but are looking for a single shooter, the chief deputy said.There were about 750 people at the venue when police arrived, Oxford said.The FBI and Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation, he said."Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families, and friends of those affected by this morning's shooting in Greenville," Texas A&M University-Commerce said in a statement.The university and its police department are working with the sheriff's office to determine whether any of the victims are students, the statement says.Earlier, the school's police department 1376

A newly proposed Ohio bill would make it punishable by law for physicians to medically aid transgender children through gender transition therapies. Two Ohio lawmakers have proposed charging physicians who do treat transgender children with a third-degree felony if they attempt therapeutic or surgical procedures to change the gender of anyone under the age of 18. It would also allow parents to sue those physicians. While the bill hasn't been formally filed yet, it's already caused concern among those who support transgender rights. "Without the medications, and the access to doctors and therapists and all this, I don't know where these children are going to turn or what they're going to do," said Jessica Cicchinelli, the mother of a transgender child. "And that, that scares me more than anything." Cicchinelli's child is one of 1,600 patients receiving treatment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, in the Living with Change Clinic specifically designed to serve transgender children. Two doctors, a social worker and several members of nursing personnel work in the department currently. The conservative group Citizens for Community Values supports the bill and other legislation like it. Citizens for Community Values has not responded to a request for comment. Reps. Sedrick Denson and Bridgid Kelly responded, saying they do not support it. Five other state state lawmakers did not respond. Cicchinelli said the treatments her child receive are important, and help her child thrive. She's working to raise money to help fund the work that happens in the Living with Change Clinic."These lawmakers should not have the right to choose how we live our lives and the type of medication and that, you know, that we get," said Cicchinelli. A news helicopter showed a tanker truck barreling into a crowd of protesters on a Minneapolis highway on Sunday. The protest marked the sixth straight day of unrest in Minneapolis following the death of George Floyd. Floyd died while in police custody on Monday after an officer held a knee against Floyd’s neck for nine minutes. The news helicopter showed dozens of protesters swarming the tanker, with several protesters jumping on the hood of the tanker. As the crowd swelled, police rushed in and sprayed the crowd.
