A Waterford mother went through what she calls "the scariest 10 minutes of her life" while visiting her grandmother last weekendLacey Guyton was leaving her grandmother's when she put her 2-month-old daughter in the car. She says she put her daughter in her car seat, and the diaper bag in the back seat and shut the car door — only to discover that the door had locked.She immediately called 911 and was surprised by what the dispatcher told her — that 911 does not dispatch emergency services to unlock cars or break windows.Guyton said the dispatcher then offered to connect her to a tow company but knew she needed to get inside the car immediately to save her baby."I saw her start to close her eyes and I just ran to the back window and smashed it open," she said.Guyton says Waterford police contacted her to apologize about what happened, but she wants to set the record straight. "They never had the chance to respond. Nobody told them. After years of battling to stay near his family, a popular restaurant manager on Palm Beach is preparing to be deported to Mexico.Francisco Javier Gonzalez -- known by the community as Javier -- is saying farewell to the countless customers and friends he's made on the island, especially at Pizza Al Fresco — located about two miles from President Trump's property at Mar-a-Lago — where he has worked for nearly 10 years.In just a few weeks, he has been ordered to appear at a U.S. Immigration office in Miramar, where his attorney said he is likely to be taken into custody and deported.The 36-year-old moved to Palm Beach County from Mexico 20 years ago as a teenager to be near his brother, using what he thought was a valid visa.He says it wasn't until he returned to visit his parents in Mexico some years later that he learned the visa wasn't valid. After that, he said he returned to the country illegally to continue the life he established in South Florida, which has complicated his case with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement  (ICE) officials.Gonzalez has no criminal record. He's married to a U.S. citizen and has three young American-born children ages 6, 8 and 11.Over the years. Gonzalez says he's checked in regularly with immigration authorities as he works to become a citizen.However, with recent crackdowns on illegal immigration by federal authorities, Gonzalez says he knew his time was running short.When he checked in with ICE officers on March 17, he was told unless he left the country on his own, he would most likely be taken into custody at his next check-in.Now, Gonzalez is preparing for what may come next. The restaurant manager bid farewell to the community during a town hall meeting on Tuesday.Right now, Gonzalez's lawyer is in Washington, D.C. to meet with Senator Marco Rubio, Congress and customs officials to fight for his case.There's also a petition on Change.org, with nearly 40,000 signatures urging border patrol to stop the deportation.  2045

It’s not hard to see why: Medicare Advantage plans often cover stuff that Medicare doesn’t, and most people don’t pay extra for it.But Medicare Advantage can be more expensive if you get sick because copays and other costs can be higher, says Katy Votava, president of Goodcare.com, a health care consultant for financial advisors and consumers.Unhappy customers who want to switch back to traditional Medicare may find they no longer qualify for the supplemental policies to help pay their medical bills, or that they would face prohibitively high premiums.“These are complicated products,” says Votava, author of “Making the Most of Medicare.” “They’re like nothing else, no other insurance that people encounter anywhere until they get to Medicare.”Medicare’s alphabet soupThe first hurdle many people face when deciding about Medicare coverage is simply understanding how the various parts fit together. Traditional Medicare, also known as original Medicare, has two parts:Part A covers hospitalization and is typically premium-free.Part B covers outpatient care, including doctor visits, and has a standard monthly premium of 4.60 for 2020, although higher-income people pay more.You can choose any doctor who accepts Medicare, and most do.
