(KGTV) - A man died in a house fire in the rural East County community of Potrero early Monday morning.Cal Fire, San Diego County Fire, the Sheriff's Department Bomb Arson unit and ATF agents were called to the home at Coyote Holler Road and Round Potrero Road about 7:15 a.m.First responders tried CPR, but couldn't save the man. Cal Fire officials said they were working to identify the victim, who was found unconscious just outside the home. The fire did not spread to any other buildings, including a trailer home that was under construction next to the house that burned. The same area burned in the Harris Fire in 2007. 651

PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Human body parts that authorities say may have been intended for medical research were found over the weekend in northern Arizona.According to a statement released Sunday by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified about the remains near Prescott on Saturday and an examination confirmed they were human.A second site with additional body parts was discovered Sunday.The sheriff’s office says it is treating the investigation as a homicide, but the Yavapai County medical examiner says it appears the remains from both sites are from a medical institution and were intended for use in the educational and research field.The sheriff’s office described abandoning remains as a serious crime and said it intends to find “those culpable for such disrespect shown in the cavalier way the remains were discarded.”Sheriff Scott Mascher and Sheriff-Elect David Rhodes issued statements, saying they’ll work together to assure that whatever resources necessary are available to determine those responsible are found and prosecuted.“It is not much that could surprise me anymore, but this news makes me sick, especially for the families of those whose remains were found. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A Poway family is desperately searching for their beloved cat who was last seen getting into a car with an Amazon delivery driver Monday night. Rachael Dominguez shared her doorbell camera footage with 10News which shows Cofi the Siamese cat interacting with the driver on the front porch. Another angle shows the same driver and the cat getting into a car and driving away.Dominguez contacted the Poway Sheriff's Department and Amazon. The company told her the driver says he thought Cofi was a stray and was trying to help but the cat jumped out of his car at a later stop.The driver says Cofi jumped out around Cree Court in Poway. Dominguez is asking people living in that area to keep an eye out for the cat. 746
