BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang here Tuesday urged medical workers to improve their professional ethics and skills to contribute to the country's medical reform.     "All medical staff should strengthen their professional ethics, pay attention to humane solicitude, improve professional techniques, strengthen service skills and strive to serve the people well," said Li during a ceremony awarding outstanding organizations, individuals and rural doctors in the medical field. MALE, Maldives, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed and the visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Tuesday pledged to work closely on climate change and other global issues.     Nasheed said his country appreciated the important and active role played by China in the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference held last month. SHANGHAI, Nov. 1 (Xinhua)-- HSBC has raised its forecast of China's GDP growth this year to 8.1 percent, said HSBC Group Chairman Stephen Green here Sunday.     The bank's previous forecast was 7.8 percent.     While attending the annual International Business Leaders' Advisory Council (IBLAC), Green said the world financial crisis has not derailed either of the two most noteworthy and transformative trends in global finance: "the rise of China and the shift from west to east."     He also expected effects of China's stimulus packages would further lift the country's GDP growth and sustain the recovery momentum into 2010.     Green said Shanghai, as China's largest city, had kept a relatively stable growth during the crisis, which suggested it had the potential to become one of the world's financial centers comparable to New York or London.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Visiting United States President Barack Obama said on Monday he would discuss economic recovery, climate change and stopping the spread of nuclear weapons in his talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao.     He made the remarks at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum during his first trip to China since taking office in January.
