(KGTV) — A high-speed pursuit in the Los Angeles area turned into a manhunt after a group of men abandoned their car and fled together on foot.Police were in pursuit of possible armed robbery suspects on the westbound 134 Freeway Friday shortly after 4 p.m., according to ABC-affiliate KABC. The vehicle hit speeds of more than 100 mph before heading onto surface streets in North Hollywood.The vehicle then led police onto the southbound 170 Freeway and the southbound 101 Freeway in Universal City, before five men exited the vehicle and fled into a residential area on foot, KABC reports.Police combed and locked down the neighborhood for nearly three hours, eventually arresting four of the five suspects around 8:30 p.m. K9 officers were used to track the men down, two of them were bit severely enough to be sent to the hospital, KABC reported. (KGTV) - An Amber Alert issued early Monday morning was canceled hours later when the Central California girl was reportedly found in Temecula.Law enforcement officials said Aaliyah Gomez was taken by her father Julio Gomez, who did not have custody.Aaliyah was taken overnight from Lemoore, near Bakersfield.  Officials believed her father was heading for the Mexican border in a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado.The girl was dropped off with family but Gomez remains at large, according to KABC. 501

(KGTV) - Experts from the San Diego Zoo have been sent to Madagascar to help care for nearly 11,000 tortoises discovered in a massive poaching bust.The April 10 discovery by local police found the tortoises covering virtually every room in the raided home. The animals did not have access to food or water.Since the discovery, hundreds of the tortoises had died from dehydration and illness.RELATED: Tortoise with broken shell recovering after surgeryAuthorities believe the 10,976 tortoises discovered were part of illegal pet trading and planned for shipment to Asia.
