(KGTV) -- A skydiver has died following an accident near Skydive San Diego Sunday morning. The agency tweeted around 11 a.m. that a skydiver was injured near Otay Lakes Road northwest of the glider port. Cal Fire later confirmed that the skydiver died while crews performed CPR. (KGTV) - Chula Vista Mayor Mary Salas outlined the city’s recent accomplishments and layed out its future goals in her fourth State of the City Address Tuesday night. Salas went over the growth and achievements San Diego County's second-largest city has seen over the last year, including neighborhood revitalization and the approval of the Bayfront Project. During the address, Salas spoke about events that drew large crowds over the last year.Salas said the city’s Fourth of July celebration in 2017 drew a crowd of 15,000 while more than 35,000 people attended HarborFest on the Bayfront.RELATED: Port of San Diego, Chula Vista moves forward with bayfront developmentThe Mayor also spoke about growth happening in Third Avenue Village citing the Lemon Fest, Taste of Third and Village Summer Nights in June. A popular topic throughout California in recent years is infrastructure. (KGTV and CNN) - Newly released video from a passenger shows the moments before and after strong winds led to the crash of an Aeromexico plane in northern Mexico.Flight 2431 had just left Durango, Mexico for Mexico City on Tuesday when it took a nose dive.Video shows the plane fall before flames erupt outside the window. The plane skidded off the runway at the Guadalupe Victoria International Airport until it stopped about 300 meters away, according to Durango’s governor.RELATED: A plane crashed in Mexico but everyone on board survived99 passengers and four crew members were on board including Ashley Garcia, who recorded the video. Everyone evacuated the plane using its emergency evacuation slides before flames engulfed the aircraft, officials said. Although 49 people were hospitalized, no one died.Anabel Estrada -- a passenger from Joliet, Illinois -- felt like the aircraft had been battling against the heavy rain and wind before it hit the ground twice during the crash."The second impact was a lot stronger. This is when I jumped and hit my head against the ceiling," Estrada said. (CNN) -- Maui residents who evacuated their homes because of a wildfire are allowed to return, the County of Maui announced Friday on Facebook.But Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino cautioned that, "This fire is still an active threat to our community, and residents are urged to remain vigilant of changing conditions," in the same post.Firefighters will continue to monitor the blaze that has consumed an estimated 10,000 acres of fallow former sugar cane and dry brush, according the county.The fire was reported Thursday morning at 10:42 a.m. local time near the intersection of Waiko Road and Kuihelani Highway.The County of Maui activated its Emergency Operations Center in the morning. By afternoon, the flames were burning out of control and emergency officials sent a mobile alert warning nearby residents to evacuate.More than 600 people fled as the blaze scorched 3,000 acres, the mayor's office said. The Maui Humane Society moved its animals in crates and kennels to a nearby high school.Helicopters were grounded after sunset, and they are expected to return to making air drops after sunrise, according to a news release from the county.Oprah Winfrey has a home in the county, and tweeted a local resident to confirm that she's given officials fighting the fire access to her private road. "A big mahalo to Oprah for giving Maui County access to your private road for use to assist in the Maui fire," Hawaii Gov. David Ige tweeted.Flights at Kahului Airport were briefly diverted, but operations have returned to normal. The fire affected access to the airport, which was operating on emergency generators.
