SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego police are searching for two suspects involved in a knife attack in Bay Terraces early Sunday morning that left a 30-year-old man hospitalized.The assault happened at around 4:25 a.m. in the 6900 block of Paradise Valley Road, said Ofc. Tony Martinez, San Diego Police Department The victim told police he was confronted by two men who asked him for a cigarette."An argument ensued, and during the argument, the victim was stabbed multiple times," Martinez said.Both suspects fled in a white sedan-type vehicle, according to Martinez.The victim suffered a stab wound to the neck, the left bicep and lacerations to his nose, jaw and back, Martinez said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is unknown at this time but Martinez said he is expected to survive.The two men were described as Hispanic between 20 and 30 years old. One of the suspects stands about 6- foot, 2-inches tall weighing 180 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a black jacket and blue jeans.The second suspect stands about 6-feet tall weighing 200 pounds with a heavy build. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Residents downtown are fighting against adding more low-income housing. They say it's only making the homeless problem worse. Merle Jones moved to this East Village high rise for the views and the lush lifestyle."It's categorized as a luxury apartment complex, and there's nothing really luxury about it at all right now," said Jones. Homeless people frequent the streets and sidewalks outside the property. "There was a knife fight that broke out and that was in the afternoon," said Jones. "My girlfriend she's not even comfortable walking outside alone so its an issue."In an effort to fight the deadly Hepatitis A outbreak,  more shelters and housing solutions are popping up downtown. One of them is a 16-story high rise for low-income families on 14th and Commercial Streets. "I don’t believe that's a good idea," said Jones. "I think they need to clean up the area because when you have that type of housing, it attracts attention from other areas."The high rise is one of five Father Joe's projects to add about 2,500 affordable housing units. One-third of them would be downtown. More than 500 people signed an online petition to move more housing solutions to other parts of the county. "I think it would be a nice distribution of the concentration of it so that way it's not just one area and one area's problem," said Jones. For now, he's stuck paying high rent for a view he's not happy with.  "I pay quite a bit, so I expect a certain level of lifestyle when I'm living here," said Jones. "When my lease is up, I do plan on moving towards the other end of downtown that’s a little safer and a lot cleaner."The building is set to open January 2021.  1830

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping after a man reportedly tried to grab a woman holding an infant in La Jolla Wednesday afternoon.Police say the woman was on the 5100 block of La Jolla Hermosa Avenue around 4:30 p.m. when a man walked by and grabbed her arm as she held a 1-year-old.The man then left the area on a bicycle that didn’t have any tires before ditching the bike and running away on foot.The woman, identified as the child’s nanny, received a scratch on her arm, but the baby is uninjured, police say.The suspect was arrested after running into the water and floating. Lifeguards helped police get the man out of the water. Police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Michael Hudson. Jail records show Hudson was booked on four counts, including felony kidnapping and battery.Hudson is being held on 0,000 bail. An Oct. 30 date has been scheduled for his arraignment. 935

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas & Electric this week turned off power to tens of thousands of customers due to high wind conditions, but almost three days into the shutoff, some customers say they’re running out of options and need their power back now.East County resident Cynthia Chisum told ABC 10News, “It isn’t fun. We’ve lived in this house for 45 years. So, I know about power outages. But we’ve never had one of these preemptive power outages.”Chisum isn’t new to red flag warnings and what that comes with, as precautions are taken to make sure everyone stays safe.But this time Chisum is running out of options. Her family has been relying on candles, lamps, and battery powered equipment to make it through. Their big problem is the freezer -- without any power, their food is close to rotting.“We have a freezer full of fish that my husband caught during a fishing trip and we hate for all that to go spoiled,” Chisum said.Chisum said it was windy Wednesday night, but since then it’s been calm. That’s why she believes her power should be restored quickly.SDG&E posted an update on their website laying out their restoration plans, saying “crews are conducting visual inspections of each impacted circuit to determine whether there were any wind related damage before power can be restored.”The utility also said crews are looking for safety hazards such as downed lines, debris or tree branches caught in power lines. If no damage is found, power can be restored quickly.For those impacted by the outages, SDG&E has set up drive-thru resource centers where customers can get water and snacks or charge devices. 1646
