LAKE WORTH, Florida — We've all seen the ads that pop up on our Facebook pages. Some even advertise exactly what we've been searching online to buy, but one Florida woman is sharing a warning about an ad she was scammed by.Kinga Trzaska of Lake Worth, Florida is over the moon excited about the arrival of her third baby in May."Yeah, that's him," she said as she pointed to a 3D sonogram picture. "We can't wait till he gets here."Her youngest child right now is 9 years old, so she's having to buy all new things for her baby boy and she was searching online for a car seat that could turn into a stroller."I'm a big Facebook user and these ads came up and this car seat I've been looking at, that's normally 9 popped up for .90. So, that was a steal," said Trzaska.She didn't realize the deal was too good to be true because, on its face, the website looked legitimate."It shows up as a secure site," said Trzaska as she hovered her mouse over the lock by the https URL, a sign that the sight is secure. "It shows up as 51 reviews and they're all great."Trzaska bought two car seat strollers and was excited when she got an email that her order was received and would be processed. But, that's the only email she ever got."A month later, no confirmation, no tracking number," she said.She said she contacted the phone number on the website and it did not work. She also said she sent emails to the company and would get a generic response to view her order online. Then, she got skeptical."I googled the name of the merchant, it was like so many complaints," she added.There it was. Many others like her warned that this was a scam. The Better Business Bureau's scam tracker site found people all over the country who have reported being scammed by the same website."The only thing I kept thinking about is how many other expecting mothers this is happening to," said Trzaska.You can look up a website's registration by searching "who is (company's domain)" on Google. The website 1supershop.com was created in 2017. It's registered in Tokyo and the domain is on GoDaddy.com's server. You can email Go Daddy about abuse on any site on their server at abuse@GoDaddy.com. You can also report an ad on Facebook by clicking the ... icon next to the ad.Trzaska plans to file a complaint and has reached out to Facebook too. She got her money back through her bank and now just wants to warn others."I don’t want any other people to be in this position," she said.The website 1supershop.com only has an international number and email contact. Scripps station WPTV in West Palm Beach emailed the contact and is waiting to hear back. Kia is joining its affiliate Hyundai in recalling thousands of vehicles in the U.S. because water can get into a brake computer, cause an electrical short and possibly a fire.The Kia recall covers nearly 229,000 Sedona minivans from the 2006 through 2010 model years. Also covered are Sorento SUVs from 2007 through 2009. Kia is telling owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures and other vehicles until the problem can be fixed.The company says in documents posted Thursday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that moisture can get into the antilock brake control computer and cause an electrical short and possible fires. Kia has reports of seven fires, but no injuries. The problem can happen even if the engine is turned off.The recall is another in a series of problems that the South Korean automakers have had with engine fires during the past few years. Past problems have triggered investigations by the U.S. road safety agency.Dealers will install a relay in the main electrical junction box to stop power from going to the brake computer when the engine is off. The recall is expected to start April 10.Earlier this month, Hyundai recalled nearly 430,000 small cars due to the same problem. That recall covered certain 2006 through 2011 Elantra and 2007 through 2011 Elantra Touring vehicles. Both companies said the rate of fires is low, but Hyundai is not recommending that the cars be parked outside.Hyundai said in documents that it has three reports of fires and no related injuries. Last April, NHTSA opened two new investigations into fires involving Hyundai and Kia vehicles after getting complaints of more than 3,100 fires and 103 injuries.The agency granted a petition seeking the investigations by the nonprofit Center for Auto Safety, a consumer advocacy group.The investigations, one for Hyundai and the other for Kia, cover noncrash fires in almost 3 million vehicles from the affiliated automakers. The probes cover the 2011 through 2014 Hyundai Sonata and Santa Fe, the 2011 through 2014 Kia Optima and Sorento, and the 2010 through 2015 Kia Soul. The complaints came from consumers and from data provided by both automakers.NHTSA had previously said it would incorporate the noncrash fires into a 2017 investigation that examined recalls of Hyundai and Kia vehicles for engine failures. It opened the new probes “based on the agency’s analysis of information received from multiple manufacturers, consumer complaints and other sources.”Engine failure and fire problems with Hyundais and Kias have affected more than 6 million vehicles since 2015, according to NHTSA documents. JPMorgan Chase, which is the parent company of Chase Bank, announced this week plans to make it easier for those with criminal pasts to be considered for employment with the company. As part of JPMorgan Chase's new initiative, the company will no longer ask employees to reveal if they have a criminal past during the application process. The company said this initiative allows for those with criminal backgrounds to receive the same consideration as any other applicant, when their background has no bearing on job requirements.The company said that in 2018, the company hired 2,100 people with criminal backgrounds, which represented 10 percent of all new hires for the year. JPMorgan Chase said those hired generally had been charged with low level offenses such as disorderly conduct, personal drug possession and DUI. These applicants were hired for positions in entry-levels jobs such as transaction processing, and lending and account servicing.“Business has a responsibility to partner with policy, business and community leaders to create an economy that works for more people. When someone cannot get their foot in the door to compete for a job, it is bad for business and bad for communities that need access to economic opportunity,” said JPMorgan Chase Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon in a statement. “Giving more people a second chance allows businesses to step-up and do their part to reduce recidivism, hire talented workers, and strengthen the economy.”The financial services company's decision to ban the box is part of a broader initiative to advocate for reforms to make it easier for those with criminal backgrounds to be part of the workforce. Experts say it's important for parents to start a conversation about race and tackle the tough questions.“If those questions don't get answered, that fear, that anxiety, that confusion just goes unaddressed,” said Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum, a psychologist and author of the book “Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?”Tatum says African American parents tend to talk to their children about police brutality to explain how they can stay safe, and that they themselves could become a victim.“Most white parents are not worried about that happening to their white children,” said Tatum. “So, they're going to have a different kind of conversation, but it's important for all kids to recognize unfairness, injustice, and hopefully understand that they can be part of the solution."The conversation may be different depending on the child's age. A teenager may want to get involved with advocating for change. They may have had experiences with racism or know someone who has.Tatum says kids as young as 3 or 4 will notice racial differences. At that age, you may have to put it in a way they can understand.“Even a 5-year-old can understand the concept of unfairness,” said Tatum. “And you can even talk to a 5-year-old about a particular kind of unfairness we refer to as racism.”Tatum says all kids should know how to engage with people who are different from themselves.
