SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police identified Monday the man shot and killed in the Shelltown neighborhood. Ricardo Moran, 49, was identified as one of two men who was shot on S. 42nd Street Saturday at 1:35 a.m. Officers received multiple 911 calls about gunshots. When they reached the scene, they found Moran and an unidentified 56-year-old man suffering from injuries. Witnesses heard a vehicle speeding away following the gunshots but were not able to provide a description. Moran died at the hospital. The second victim is expected to survive, police said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police have released bodycam footage of an officer-involved shooting that ended with one man dead in City Heights on Thursday.The video shows SDPD officers responding to the 4200 block of Menlo Ave. at about 4 p.m. SDPD said officers were called after reports of a man with a handgun confronting two women."The man manipulated the slide of the gun as if he were loading it and pointed the gun towards the women," according to an SDPD news release. The women drove away and then called 911.The video, which includes bodycam video from two officers and witness video, shows officers arrive to the scene and begin to yell to the man to drop the gun and step away. Matt Dobbs said Thursday.Police say the man picked the gun back up and pointed it at officers. That's when several officers shot at the man, according to Dobbs. The man was hit at least once. SDPD said the man was still moving and in control of the gun, and pointed it in officers' direction, prompting police to fire again.Police continued to yell to the man to get away from the gun, before SDPD says officers used a combination of non-lethal options, including a bean bag round and canine, to take him into custody.SDPD says the man was given medical aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released, but police say he appears to be a Hispanic or light-skinned African-American man in this 30s or 40s.A weapon was recovered at the scene, according to police, but it isn't known if the weapon was real or operational. SDPD said a witness provided cell phone video showing the man picking the gun back up and pointing it at officers.SDPD says seven officers fired shots. They are not being identified. As with all officer-involved shootings, the officers will be placed on administrative duty. No officers were reportedly injured.After the department's Homicide Unit completes its investigation, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office will look at the incident to determine if the officers bear any criminal liability for their actions.The Internal Affairs Unit will also conduct an investigation, and the Shooting Review Board will evaluate the tactics used by the officers.The Community Review Board on Police Practices will conduct a review of the incident and provide any appropriate recommendations. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Crime Stoppers released photos of a suspect and offered a reward Thursday for tips about an assault in the Midway area. A man parked his vehicle along the side of the Arby’s at 3777 Midway Drive April 6 about 7 p.m., inadvertently cutting off another driver. The man went inside the restaurant and got into an argument with the driver. During the fight, the driver punched the victim in the head eight times, police said. The victim fell to the ground and the driver stomped on his head with his feet, according to investigators. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for an orbital fracture. The suspect drove away from the area, police said. He is described as white, about 30 years old, with a muscular build. The sides and back of his head are shaved, according to officers. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego and National City Police detained three people and sought a fourth Friday at a South Bay home where a neighbor said shots were fired.The incident started Friday about 5 p.m. at Alpha and 47th streets in National City. A woman who lives near the home told 10News she heard gunfire. A 10News crew on the scene saw a man and woman leave the home with their hands raised. Police said three people were detained for questioning. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Rallies were held in six different states in what organizers are calling "The March for Reparations to African people."Crowds gathered at the waterfront in downtown San Diego Saturday afternoon wearing masks with signs in hand.Among them was Wendy Craig, who is part of the UHURU Solidarity Movement, the group that organized the rally. Craig says they’re calling on people to do more acting and less talking. You have to take a material stand of solidarity and turn over the stolen resources."Craig says many people that registered to participate in this event also raised money towards a collective reparations goal. She says there’s been an increase in involvement this year, which she believes is attributed to current events. "Four years ago when we organized a march for reparations we did not have a lot of success. But that was shifted through the George Floyd protests, and Breonna Taylor. That shift has brought a lot of unity to what we’re doing," Craig said.Collectively, this organization had set a goal of raising ,000.
