A San Francisco salon owner says she is “done” with the city and plans to close her shop permanently following backlash and controversy this last week after a video of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi inside the salon without a mask surfaced.Owner Erica Kious announced her decision Wednesday night on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show.Kious owns ESalonSF in San Francisco. She says one of her stylists, who is an independent contractor, told her Speaker Pelosi was coming in for an appointment on August 31. Salons in San Francisco have been closed since March, and were told they could reopen for outdoor services on September 1.Kious released the video of Pelosi’s visit, showing the Speaker with wet hair and not wearing a mask at the time, the day after her appointment.Pelosi responded to the video saying her team had been told it was OK to come inside to have her hair done, and that she felt the incident was “a set-up.” A statement released by the stylist who did her hair reportedly agrees it was a set-up, and states he had gotten permission from Kious verbally the night before the appointment.ABC7 in the Bay Area reports some stylists at ESalonSF have quit, claiming Kious’ made them work during the pandemic in unsafe conditions.The video of Pelosi sparked reaction from a lot of people; including fellow stylists and salon owners, business owners in California, and President Donald Trump, among others. Demonstrators in curlers left hair dryers outside Pelosi’s home last week according to local media. Video of Pelosi's visit was played during a White House briefing on September 3. Kious now says she is “afraid to go back” to San Francisco.“I started to just get a ton of phone calls, text messages, emails, all my Yelp reviews… saying that they hope I go under and that I fail,” Kious told Carlson on Wednesday night. “So just a lot of negativity towards my business.”The news comes just two days after Kious thanked supporters after a GoFundMe account set up to support her and her salon raised more than 0,000.The account stated, "At the conclusion of this fundraiser, ALL donations will go directly to Erica to pay off any debts from the business that she is forced to shut down, expenses to relocate and reopen in a new location."It is not clear if Kious’ comments Wednesday night about closing permanently mean she will not re-open a salon in a different location. A motion filed in Superior Court says there is proof that El Cajon councilman Ben Kalasho and his wife are behind fake social media accounts used to defame a local beauty queen and restaurant. A civil lawsuit was filed earlier this year against the councilman and his wife, Jessica. It claims the woman who won in 2016, Zhala Tawfiq, was stripped of her title and not awarded the total prize money she was supposed to receive. The lawsuit claims around that time, a fake Instagram account was also created that posted the beauty queen’s face on top of other naked women’s bodies. The motion filed Monday says there is computer evidence to support the plaintiffs’ claims that the Kalashos were behind the Instagram account. The documents say “Instagram identified the IP address.” The court documents say it traced back to a close friend of Ben and Jessica Kalasho. During her deposition, Jessica Kalasho said she was with that friend the weekend the pictures were published. The Kalashos are also accused of defaming the business, 3 Brothers Taco Shop, known as the Tres Taqueria restaurant. The court documents say the Kalashos were behind a fake poll calling them the “worst Mexican food in El Cajon.” This was in retaliation for not posting Kalasho’s campaign signs on the restaurant property, according to the documents. It alleges fake Facebook profiles used to defame the restaurant “were accessed at least 194 times from the Kalasho’s El Cajon home.” Two other plaintiffs are named in the lawsuit. Attorney Lina Charry and another former beauty queen Paris Kargar, also accuse the Kalashos of defamation. It calls the behavior of the Kalashos "outrageous conduct consisting of fraud, harassment, and defamation conducted both online and in person." In a written response to Team 10, Ben Kalasho released the following statement: "The filing is comprised of untruthful allegations. IP addresses which are open to the public aren't proof. No evidence has been produced to me or my counsel to date, everything thus far has been pure allegation. Their counsel was accusing me of making the doctored up nudes when this case first started, last month he was accusing another associate of ours and now he is accusing a former queen. He is just harassing everyone at this point. This is nothing but a fishing expedition for money. It's pretty sad that we live in a society where greed and fabricated stories are normal just for 5 minutes of fame.  IP addresses on open networks don't prove anything. And, different individuals can use an IP address at different times (such as at a public library or Internet cafe or Open Networks like we had at our home).  Often, many individuals using a public or private network that use network address translation (NAT) may share a public IP address. Thus, IP addresses pose additional hurdles and are thrown out by judges. IP addresses can also be spoofed, i.e., a criminal actor can forge an IP address and thus “leave some other person’s fingerprints” or a criminal actor can relocate his illegal content from one IP address to another, or host that content from multiple IP addresses and thus leave lots of fingerprints over time. All this can be done by just parking outside my home. All the plaintiffs know where I live and work. We have footage of them parked outside my home. I have on a number of occasions offered my laptop to be searched and scanned by a forensics expert to prove I had nothing to do with any of the untruthful allegations against me, but the Plaintiffs Lawyer has chosen to ignore my offer because he knows that it will destroy his case. Their game plan is to drag this into the media for as long as possible. We look forward to trial and will not be bullied, harassed or intimidated.”  3891

A police officer in Columbus, Ohio, was arrested on Thursday on two child pornography related counts, Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said.Officer Raymond Rose, 29, was arrested on two second degree felony counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity related material and for pandering obscene material involving a minor. Rose is accused by O’Brien’s office of illegally filming a nude minor on July 20, 2020 inside a Columbus residence.O’Brien said that Rose was a member of the police’s patrol division for five years.WCMH-TV confirmed that Rose was placed on administrative leave and does not have arrest power during his leave.“When criminal activity is discovered, our duty is to investigate and pursue the appropriate action based on the evidence,” Columbus Division of Police Chief Tom Quinlan said in a statement to WCMH. “The fact that it involves one of our own does not change that. A San Diego bail bondsman is disputing a controversial Facebook live in which the narrator says his agents were turning in a suspected undocumented immigrant.The video, shot Monday by Ryan McAdams, shows Watkins employees turning a Latino man into central jail. McAdams, wearing a Watkins hat, narrates the video, saying the man was at risk of skipping trial and costing Watkins ,000. He added commentary that drew criticism from immigration advocates. "He's in here hiding under sanctuary status right now," McAdams says in the nine-minute video. "Let ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) deal with him."Jerald Watkins, who co-owns Watkins Bail Bonds, said he watched that video in shock. He said immigration status doesn't matter. "As long as you appear at your court dates, that's all we're asking," he said. Watkins said his workers took the man in after he changed his address and phone number, plus a warning from his co-signors that he may skip trial. "The family called and said look, this guy's acting shaky, we don't want to be on the hook for ,000," he said. Watkins said McAdams isn't his employee. He simply knew the agent, who let him ride along while he broadcast it on Facebook."Yeah, I'm not happy about that," Watkins said. A United States Customs and Border Protection officer is accused of falsely claiming to be a US citizen when he applied for the job, the Department of Justice said. According to DOJ officials, Marco Antonio De La Garza Jr., 37, of Hereford, Ariz. was charged with three counts of passport fraud and false statements on his federal law enforcement background application. The DOJ is claiming that De La Garza knowingly used a fraudulently obtained Texas birth certificate to apply for a United States passport. De La Garza is also accused of using the same birth certificate to claim US citizenship during his background check.It is unknown how US officials were unable to figure out that De La Garza's paperwork was fraudulent.  The charges stemmed from an investigation conducted by  the Department of State-Diplomatic Security Service and the Department of Homeland Security-Office of Inspector General. The DOJ claims that De La Garza was actually born in Mexico. The Associated Press confirmed that he was hired by border patrol in 2012.   1116
