MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Police District 2 officers were heartbroken to find a dog abandoned for several days in a cold pickup truck.Scripps station WTMJ in Milwaukee crews were there just in time to see the rescue as police broke into the truck at 17th and National Avenue.Parking tickets on the windshield show it had been there since Saturday. As of Tuesday morning, the car still remains at that location.There was no food or water inside, but the seats were soiled with feces.Despite all of this, the dog seemed to be in good spirits.Offices took it to the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission, better known as MADACC.Doctor Libby Gutting checked him out. She tells us you should call police if you see a dog alone in a vehicle for more than an hour."An animal could suffer from hypothermia or even pass away from that so we definitely don't want to leave animals outside in any sort of condition especially for a car that's not running," said Dr. Gutting, Medical Director of MADACC.Dr. Gutting said the pitbull is in great shape.If his owner does not come in to claim him in five days, he could go up for adoption."Our concern is that this person has an issue with the way they need to care for their pet which means they need help," said Dr. Gutting.The captain with Milwaukee Police District 2 told WTMJ the owner, in this case, could face an animal cruelty charge.  1419

Forbes Magazine reports Perry is officially worth one billion dollars.This puts Perry in the same group of billionaires with Oprah Winfrey, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.Forbes says Perry owns the rights to all 22 of his movies, which have grossed nearly a billion dollars to date. He also owns more than 1,200 TV episodes, about two dozen plays and a studio lot in Atlanta.“I mostly go on my gut and my instinct. I like to challenge the system and see what I can do differently,” Perry told Forbes recently for a piece on his billionaire status.Perry was once homeless, and grew up in poverty in New Orleans. “I love when people say you come from ‘humble beginnings,’ ” he told Forbes. “[It] means you were poor as hell.”In early August, Tyler Perry Studios completed filming season 2 of “Sistas,” a comedy-drama on BET. MIRAMAR, Calif. (KGTV) - Two young boys died Friday night after their mother crashed into a semi-trailer on the side of the I-15 freeway. Israel and Adrian Lemus were heading home with their mother when she swerved into the shoulder near Miramar Road and collided with the back of the trailer. The mother was taken to the hospital with broken bones and a brain bleed. Family says she is stable but has been in and out of consciousness. The family had been heading back from Menifee where they were celebrating Israel’s birthday. He was going to turn 11 on Saturday. “They were very happy in the last moments,” said Lidia Lemus, their cousin, who was at the party. “It’s very surreal right now,” she said. “They had their whole lives ahead of them.” The family says the mother was not under the influence when she left the party. NASA could make history on Tuesday as their spacecraft, OSIRIS-REx, will attempt to land on an ancient asteroid 200 million miles away from Earth.OSIRIS-REx launched in 2016. It arrived at the asteroid, named Bennu, in 2018 and it’s been mapping out the surface working to pick the best location to land ever since.The mission’s operations are headquartered at the University of Arizona.The mission will begin at 2:50 p.m. Arizona time on Tuesday. At 3:12 p.m., OSIRIS-REx will finally touch down on Bennu and collect a sample before heading back to Earth. Dr. Lori Glaze with NASA tells ABC15 the sample will allow researchers to study the ancient secrets of our solar system. She says Bennu also has a 1-in-2,700 chance of impacting Earth in about 150 years or so, so this mission can help researchers work to prevent that.“Helping us refine and reduce the uncertainties on Bennu’s orbit so we can better predict more precisely not only when it might intercept with Earth, but what the probability of that intersection is,” Dr. Glaze said. “So the mission's been critically important for refining Bennu’s orbit so we can help protect ourselves in the future.”Watch a live stream of the event in the player below. 1222
