CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Chula Vista Police identified Tuesday a man and woman who were shot by the woman’s ex-boyfriend in a deadly domestic violence dispute near a Costco. The incident happened Monday afternoon while Angelina Perez, 32 and Samuel Valdez, 31, were loading groceries in the trunk of their vehicle in the parking lot of the store on Broadway with their infant daughter in a stroller. Sean Illian, 48, approached them with a gun and opened fire, hitting Perez and Valdez several times, police said. The baby was not hurt.Witnesses in the parking lot saw Illian shoot himself in the head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said Perez and Illian had been in a relationship which ended badly in 2018. Perez began dating Valdez just after the breakup, investigators said. (KGTV) — South Bay police officers closed down two marijuana dispensaries operating illegally.Two search warrants were served at illegal pot shops on Thursday by Chula Vista Police, according to the department. One dispensary was located at 500 Vance Street. CVPD arrested two employees on felony charges of operating an illegal dispensary and seized about ,000 in cash and 0,000 to million in illegal products.The second bust occurred at an illegal shop in the 900 block of Broadway. CHICANO PARK (KGTV) -- A man was rushed to the hospital after being shot near Chicano Park Friday night, San Diego police said.A caller reported the man shot near Chicano Park on National Avenue and Dewey Street at 9:49 p.m. San Diego Police say officers arrived to find a large group gathered in a parking lot and a silver sedan trying to leave.The group fled, including the occupants of the silver sedan. Officers discovered a 15-year-old Hispanic male in the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.Officers started CPR on the teen before first responders arrived to take him to a nearby hospital. The teen died at the hospital, police said.Police say the teen has been identified but his name was not being released.San Diego police said the incident is being investigated as a homicide. (KGTV) -- The Sweetwater Union High School District announced Thursday that it plans to reopen August 3.According to the district, only distance or virtual learning will be available on August 3. No on campus instruction will be available.On August 28, the district will transition to "Phase 1" where 10 percent of students will be allowed on campus at any given time.As public health orders permit, the campus will move into phase two, where 20 percent of students will be allowed on campus. Phase three will see 50 percent or more of students on campus plus "some activities." (KGTV) - A South Bay officer was arrested Wednesday after a reported domestic violence incident, police confirmed.Chula Vista Police officer Leopoldo Armando Chousal, 27, was arrested at a residence in the 6400 block of Potomac Street by San Diego Police. The incident occurred while Chousal was off-duty, police said.SDPD said Chousal was booked on one count of making "criminal threats" to harm his girlfriend.
