SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Two men used semi-automatic handguns to rob a T-Mobile store Tuesday afternoon, according to San Diego Police. Police say the incident happened around 12:40 p.m. at the T-Mobile store on the 4300 block of Camino De La Plaza. The men reportedly walked into the store wearing white masks before taking several phones and fleeing the scene in what police describe as a four-door subcompact vehicle. Police were unable to find the suspects after setting up a perimeter and searching the area. Detectives are investigating the incident. 569

SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - A Santee family believes their loved one was among the four people killed by mysterious blue pills last week. “That’s the biggest thing is, I’m pissed somebody is out there doing this,” said Dan Steele, the stepfather of Casey Force. Force, 39, said goodbye to his mother as she left for work Wednesday night. The next morning, Force’s three sons woke up and found him dead in his bed. Steele said the family hasn’t received an official cause of death, but deputies told him blue pills were found in the bedroom. Force was nine months sober from his alcohol addiction and appeared to be succeeding as a painter. Steele said he didn’t know Force was taking painkillers or where they came from. “It’s tough; it makes me mad that such a thing is out there,” said Steele. “They need to be off the streets, anybody pushing drugs needs to be off the streets.” RELATED: Encinitas mother believes her son died of mysterious blue pillsSteele shared a message for other families in the wake of the drug deaths. “Don't be afraid to talk about it; say something, bring some awareness,” Steele said. “Put it out there, nothing you get off the street is reliable. It was really itchy." As a salesperson, Ostby is what the company calls a Market Partner.  "I have over 100 people in my downline -- customers and Market Partners. I reached up to my W-2 said five figures in those eight months in additional income. So realizing what was happening was a hard pill to swallow."Her decision to stop selling Monat didn't come easily."I was crying to my husband," she recalls. "I was vacuuming every day because I was losing so much hair. SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV)— November's violent clash between migrants and American border patrol agents temporarily halted businesses in San Ysidro. But many are saying it also has lingering effects on the tourism industry, both in San Diego and Tijuana.Sunday, Nov. 25, seemed like the beginning of the end for Wes Barba, the owner and operator of Baja Border Tours. The San Diego-based small group tour company specializes in day trips to Mexico.“It’s killing me. It’s really killing me,” West Barba said. “We go to Ensenada, Rosarito, and Tijuana, and the Guadalupe Valley for wine tasting."After the migrant caravan rush toward San Ysidro, Barba's phones have been ringing off the hook with last-minute cancellations.“They say ‘It’s going to be a problem coming back. Are we going to be in danger?’” Barba said. Each day trip, Barba usually has ten clients. Not anymore. With more clients canceling daily, he has no choice but to cancel the trips altogether.“10 customers to one customer. My profit went from 0 to zero a day,” Barba said. Barba said his counterparts in Mexico are also feeling the tourism lull. There are several reports of popular tourists areas in Rosarito, looking like ghost towns. Barba had no clients Sunday but still drove his tour van south of the border.“I have a great, great customer named Kathleen, and she put together her neighbors, and we put all the clothes together,” Barba said.Barba's customer inspired him and his family to gather clothes, shoes, and anything else he thought would help the migrants stuck in Tijuana. He put those donations into a suitcase and drove them to the migrant camps. He was struck by the conditions he saw first-hand.“Sleeping on the ground, under those tents. It gets me,” Barba said. Barba is fully aware that the recipients of his donations are the reason for his company’s dismal profits. But at the end of the day, he said his heart wins over his pocketbook. “Even though they are affecting our business, it’s not about ‘We hate you. You guys aren’t helping us. We’re not going to help you.’ No, it’s not like that. We actually want to give back also. Listen, we are all humans. We need to help each other,” he said. Barba is a proud U.S. citizen. He became one after he and his American wife escaped dangerous conditions in Colombia decades ago. (AP) — Southern California authorities say 18 pounds (8 kilograms) of fentanyl have been seized in Orange County — enough of the synthetic opioid to create four million lethal doses.The Orange County Register reports the seizure last week yielded almost half the amount of fentanyl seized by authorities in the county during all of 2018 — a sign the drug is quickly growing into a substantial public threat.Sheriff's officials say investigators served a search warrant and arrested 60-year-old Rudolph Garcia on multiple drug charges. It wasn't known if Garcia has an attorney.Investigators also seized a semi-automatic handgun, heroin, methamphetamine, and ,000 in cash.According to the California Department of Public Health, deaths in Orange County attributed to fentanyl have risen from 14 five years ago to 93 in 2018. 852
