The Bombacinos and their son, AJ, have learned a lot the past eight years."We were thrown into this world of special needs feeding that we never really expected," mother Julie Bombacino says. When AJ was only 6 months old, he had a 45-minute seizure. It was then that doctors placed a feeding tube in his stomach and prescribed him formula. But his reaction to the formula created a new kind of problem. "Those first five, six months of him being on a feeding tube, it was constant nausea and vomiting and constipation for him, and he was just miserable," Julie says. "He also wasn't growing like he was supposed to be, and we were miserable, and we were scared."So the Bombacinos started researching and found a community that was blending whole food instead of formula.Brian Liebenow is one of those people using whole food. "Probably 2012 up [until] now, I've been blending my food," he says.Liebenow is an Air Force veteran, who travels the world. But back in 2003, doctors found lymphoma in his tonsils, leading to rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Now, he's cancer-free, but the radiation severely damaged his jawbone. "The last jaw surgery I had in 2009 cut a nerve, and I wasn't able to swallow again after that," Liebenow says. As someone who had been able to eat whatever he wanted for a majority of his life, he wasn't ready to trade in steak and vegetables for formula. So, he started taking a blender to restaurants and feeding himself pureed food through his tube. He became an advocate for what's known as a "blenderized" diet, and another inspiration for the Bombacinos to make a difference in the feeding-tube world. "We're both from big Italian families; we love to eat," Tony Bombacino says. The Chicago police union again is calling for a federal investigation into State's Attorney Kim Foxx to determine the extent of her involvement with the Jussie Smollett case.Kevin Graham, president of the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police, said the demand is based on news reports about text messages between Foxx and an attorney about, according to him, "diverting the case from Chicago police department to a federal investigation."Foxx, the state's attorney for Cook County, recused herself from the Smollett investigation in mid-February.Graham, who spoke to reporters after prosecutors announced they were dropping charges against Smollett, said he originally made the request to the US Department of Justice last week. He also has asked federal investigators to look into a letter sent to Smollett days before he alleged he was attacked on a Chicago street."We're doubling down on that. We want to make sure that the Justice Department takes a very hard look with that case and what went on today," he said.Text messages obtained by CNN through an open records request show Smollett family friend Tina Tchen -- a former chief of staff for first lady Michelle Obama and a lawyer -- reached out to Foxx on February 1. Tchen wrote the family had "concerns about the investigation."Foxx emailed Tchen saying in part, "Spoke to Superintendent Johnson. I convinced him to (r)each out to FBI to ask that they take over the investigation. He is reaching out now and will get back to me shortly."Later another person, identified by Foxx's office as a family friend, asked the prosecutor whether they could talk on the phone. The Miami Dolphins waived second-year running back Mark Walton after he was arrested Tuesday morning, with police accusing him of repeatedly punching the mother of his unborn child in the face.An officer responded to a residence in the Miami suburb of Davie around 4:15 a.m. and learned that Walton had been in an argument with a woman, according to a police report.The woman was five weeks pregnant, the report said, and had told Walton on Sunday that the child was his."During the course of the argument, Walton pushed (the woman) against a wall and punched her several times in the face and head. I observed (the woman) to have swelling on her left eye," the responding Davie officer wrote in his report. The victim's name was redacted in the report.Walton is charged with aggravated assault on a pregnant woman, the report says. Walton remained in the Broward County Jail, pending a Wednesday hearing that would determine his bond status.Walton's attorney, Michael Gottlieb, said he spoke with his client Tuesday. He told CNN, "I don't believe Mr. Walton is guilty of the charges as alleged."In a statement, the Dolphins said they waived Walton."We were made aware of a police matter earlier this morning regarding Mark Walton," Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said.
