(KGTV) - A woman charged with a DUI crash that killed her passenger and seriously injured a young man changed her plea to guilty Tuesday in El Cajon court.Prosecutors said Tania Molinar was drunk when she drove her Mazda into the path of James Dotson’s Ford Ranger on Avocado Blvd. in May. The impact split the truck in two.Molinar’s passenger, David Sarabia Lopez, was killed. Dotson testified about the details of the violent crash during the preliminary hearing.Dotson has not recovered from his injuries. (KGTV) -- One of the El Cajon Police Department’s K9s, K9 Jester, is being assigned a new partner after his current partner resigned from the department.After working with Jester for the last two and a half years, Officer Jordan Walker voluntarily resigned to work for another agency, according to the department. Walker said he offered to pay for Jester, who was brought in through a Ben Roethlisberger?Foundation grant. K9s cost anywhere from ,000 to ,000 to bring in and train, according to the foundation.Because Jester is still in excellent health, he was assigned to work with a new partner, Officer Randall Gray. (KGTV) — Residents were asked to shelter in place in an East County neighborhood due to a gas leak Thursday.The leak was reported at Mollison Ave. and Pear St. just before 12 p.m., according to Heartland Fire Rescue.Officials said the leak was coming from a home's natural gas line and crews would dig under the street to plug the break.Two homes were evacuated. Other nearby residents in the area were also asked to shelter in place and not to run their vehicles as crews worked to fix the break.Mollison Ave. was closed from Greenfield Dr. to Bradley Ave. El Cajon Police and SDG&E crews were also on scene.  669
