SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A tortoise no longer on the loose is still waiting for its rightful owner in East County.The tortoise, believed to be an older male, was found Thursday by Heartland Paramedics.It was roaming the streets of El Cajon and is now staying at the El Cajon Animal Shelter.Workers there say this is not a situation they often face.“Not in the City of El Cajon," said Shelter Manager Jill Jones. "Perhaps in outer-lying counties, they have a little more tortoise traffic, but we generally do not."A family who saw the original 10News story believed the tortoise was their beloved pet Frankie who went missing a week ago. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A U.S. Navy sailor from the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier was injured on his ship Friday.The sailor was struck by a towed aircraft on the flight deck around 6:30 p.m.A Navy news release reported the sailor was flown to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla for treatment. The sailor's injuries are not life-threatening.The USS Carl Vinson is conducting a training exercise off the coast of Southern California. It was on C and 7th where the mailbox is at and I thought, well this is really weird. And then I got out and I knew what it was right away, so I took it," said Tony Cozano, who found the instrument. The instrument was returned to its owner, John Walz Monday. Walz is the principal cellist for the Los Angeles Opera and has played on more than 1,500 film scores from Titanic to Indiana Jones, even the new Star Wars films. RELATED: Police searching for person who reportedly stole 0,000 cello"I walked in to the house and just burst into tears. It's in perfect shape. There's no damage to it. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An unlicensed Coronado dentist accused of taking local patients to Tijuana for dental implants pled guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges Wednesday.Robert Mansueto faced more than 20 charges when the trial over his practices began.
