SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A car being pursued by the California Highway Patrol crashed in the Carmel Valley area early Friday morning.Around 12 a.m., CHP officers attempted to pull over a 2020 Toyota Camry for speeding on southbound Interstate5 near Del Mar Heights Road, but the driver refused to stop.Officers say the driver was traveling at 135 mph.The car tried to exit on Carmel Valley Road, but when the driver attempted to get back on the freeway, she lost control on the on-ramp and crashed.Officers took six women into custody from the car, including the driver.It's unclear why they chose to flee from CHP officers.Paramedics later responded to evaluate minor injuries. 681
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A boy found wandering in the parking lot of a Rolando church Monday was reunited with his mother.The pastor of the Fellowship of Love Divine church found the boy around 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot on Aragon Dr., near the Kroc Center.San Diego Police got a call about 30 minutes later from a mother reporting her child missing from a home about a block away."He was clean. Had on a pair of Pampers, and a pair of socks. And he stuffed had a toy car and he seemed to be really happy, you know," said Pastor James Dawson.The boy was returned to his mother at their apartment nearby. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A driver crashed his Mercedes-Benz through an underground parking garage gate, causing the gate to fall onto his car and leaving the vehicle -- and himself -- trapped at the entrance.The incident was reported at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Menlo Avenue, according to San Diego police.With the large gate on top of the car, responding officers helped the driver out of his vehicle.ABC 10News learned the man was treated by medics at the scene but was also being evaluated for possible DUI. He did not appear to be seriously hurt.It's unclear why the driver was attempting to enter the parking garage since he reportedly told police he does not live in the apartment complex. 743
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A fire destroyed an abandoned building in Barrio Logan early Wednesday morning, but no injuries were reported.According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, crews were called to the structure fire in the 3500 block of Dalbergia Street at around 2:50 a.m.By the time firefighters arrived, the flames had already consumed much of the building. It took at least an hour to stop the fire from spreading.A deputy fire chief at the scene told 10News that crews have battled fires at this same address multiple times in the past.10News learned a fire occurred at the same location on April 14, and before that on Dec. 26, 2019.Additionally, on Oct. 25, 2019, a fire erupted inside of the same building; a trash can fire was reported on the property six days earlier.The cause of Wednesday’s fire is under investigation, and there is no immediate word on whether the fire is somehow connected to any of the previous incidents. No injuries were reported in any of those incidents.No one was inside at the time of Wednesday's fire. 1053

After battling cancer for four years, her family said she’s now in remission.The 10-year-old was invited to the Macy’s store to fill out a letter to Santa for the company’s annual Believe campaign.
