"The overall economy now is more stable than in the past," Yi Gang, deputy director of the People's Bank of China, said on Thursday at a panel during the World Bank-International Monetary Fund (IMF) annual meetings.

The Hangzhou Action Plan, a core outcome document, sets out a suggested strategy for the global economy to follow so as to forge a clear path toward strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth.

"We will follow an independent foreign policy of peace, firmly protect our national core interests, and join forces with all other countries to forge a community of common destiny and interests," Li added, calling for stepped-up efforts to turn the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation into reality.

The gathering came one day after the premier met with U.S. President Barack Obama in New York, during which Li called for concerted efforts to promote economic and trade ties between the world's top two economies.

"Ensuring government affairs transparency is a duty for government departments at all levels," Li stressed. "For policies that may exert a big influence on the market as well as people's livelihood in particular, government should inform the public of these policies promptly. Otherwise, any delay may fail market expectations, and thus have an ill effect on economy as well as public confidence in the government."
