After last week's freak incident that involved a flame effect malfunctioning before a Tennessee Titans, the NFL has told its teams not to use on-field pyro this week, ESPN reported. Before last Sunday's game at Nissan Stadium, a machine that produces flames burst into an uncontrolled fire. It took officials using fire extinguishers and sand to put out the fire. The fire also burned the grass along one of the sidelines. The ban does not prohibit teams from setting off fireworks into the air or using flame effects away from the field. 552

A school is Portland, Maine is teaching their students how to be an adult. Yes, in 2019, the word has turned into a verb, so it’s fitting the school is called Adulting School. In this particular class, the students are learning how to cook, and their instructor is an executive chef. “Adulting School is really about a positive way to reframe the sh*t that we have to do as adults,” says Rachel Flehinger with the school.Flehinger says the topics they work to reframe include finances, budgeting, home repairs and more.“If you change it from a chore to just a fun choice, then you can have fun in your life, and that’s what they realize,” Flehinger says. But some topics might surprise you.“Like conflict resolution is really important,” she says. “Because in this day, there’s not as much face to face talking, so how do we approach people? Our bosses? How do we make friends?”The group of students in this class are learning how to approach a kitchen, with less trepidation.“This is a chef who’s gonna really show us a meal that you could have a dinner party and really cook this and impress yourself, impress friends, have a great meal and have leftovers,” Flehinger says of the class.Tonight’s menu includes a pan seared main course and herb roasted fingerling potatoes, finished off with a French-inspired mushroom sauce. One of the students, Hannah Odom, says we all may try to look like we know what we’re doing as adults, but that’s not the case in reality. “So, I don’t think I am adulting yet fully, but I’m taking small steps,” she says. A patient at Seattle Children's Hospital has died from a mold infection. The patient was one of six to develop an infection from 2018-2019, according to Alyse Bernal, public relations manager for the hospital. The infections follow several operating rooms being shut down in May by the detection of Aspergillus mold in the air. The hospital said that the risk to patients was low, but that it was contacting those who might have been exposed. The Children's Hospital patient died after developing an Aspergillus infection in 2018, Bernal said. Details about the patient and the case have not been shared for the sake of privacy.Gaps in air filtration is believed to have been key in the presence of mold, Bernal said. While the hospital works with outside industrial hygienists to clear the rooms of Aspergillus contamination, all 14 of the hospital's main operating rooms remain closed, Bernal said."We are systematically implementing improvements and corrective actions, and then retesting the air to validate our efforts have been effective. It is difficult to predict when we will be able to safely resume operations but our patients' safety is our priority and we will reopen our operating rooms when we are confident they are safe for patient care," Bernal said.Aspergillus is a common mold that most people breathe without getting sick but that poses a greater risk to those with weakened immune systems or lung disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Health problems can include allergic reactions, lung infections and other organ infections. Those who developed infections at the hospital were at an increased risk because of the type of procedure they had, Bernal said.Mold infections in hospitals have had fatal consequences before.Mold played a part in five deaths between October 2014 and May 2016 at two University of Pittsburgh Medical Center hospitals, 1907

A mother arrested in Hawaii over the disappearance of her two Idaho children who wanted a judge to reconsider her million bail had her request rejected. A court hearing was held on Wednesday on Kauai, where Lori Vallow was arrested on an Idaho warrant. Seven-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan have not been seen since September. Their disappearance has captured attention worldwide. Police also have said Vallow and her husband Chad Daybell have lied about the children's whereabouts. Her lawyers said she isn't a flight risk and had been willing to turn herself in prior to her arrest last week. 632
