(CNN) - President Donald Trump declared on Thursday he was considering withdrawing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from California as punishment for what he claimed was a "lousy management job" in patrolling illegal immigration."You know what, I'm thinking about doing it," Trump said at a roundtable with state and local officials to address ideas to stop gun violence in the wake of the Parkland school massacre. His comments came after he decried the state of law enforcement in the Golden State."We're getting no help from the state of California. Frankly, if I pulled our people from California, you would have a crime nest like you've never seen in California. All I'd have to do is say 'ICE, Border Patrol, leave California alone,'" he said during a listening session at the White House."You would see crime like nobody has ever seen crime in this country. And yet we get no help from the state of California. They are doing a lousy management job," he went on to say. "They have the highest taxes in the nation. And they don't know what's happening out there. (KGTV) — Disneyland cast members, fans, and local officials rallied outside of Disneyland to call for California to reopen shuttered theme parks throughout the state.Demonstrators, with signs in hand blurring the line between Disney quotes and calls for action, gathered on Saturday to demand Gov. Gavin Newsom announce guidance for Disneyland and other theme parks to reopen amid the pandemic."If Disneyland is open world-wide then why can't Disneyland in Anaheim be open," one employee told KABC. "I think the governor needs to give us a chance to reopen and they keep asking and he keeps pushing the bar farther back."This month, Disney announced it plans to lay off 28,000 employees partially because of California's reluctance to reopen theme parks. The parks have been closed since mid-March when many coronavirus closures began.The guidance was reportedly set to be released soon in September, until Newsom said that the state will take its time before issuing rules."We are going to be led by a health-first framework and we’re going to be stubborn about it," Newsom said earlier this month. "That’s our commitment — that’s our resolve. We feel there’s no hurry putting out guidelines."Newsom added, "it’s very complex. These are like small cities, small communities, small towns. (KGTV) -- A 22-year-old woman was arrested after Customs and Border Protection officers searching her car discovered nearly 10 pounds of fentanyl pills hidden in various household items, a bag of Corn Nuts, and a fire extinguisher.The discovery and arrest happened at around 7 p.m. on Aug. 22, at the Calexico West Port of Entry, CBP officials said.Officials said the woman driving an Acura TSX was entering the border crossing when she was stopped by officers and questioned.According to officials, an officer “noticed inconsistencies in her story and referred her and the vehicle for a more intensive examination.”With the help from a K9 team, officers were alerted to something suspicious in the car’s trunk. Officers then found 26 packages of fentanyl hidden in items such as a bar of soap, hair cream, lotion, milk containers, a bag of Corn Nuts, and a fire extinguisher.The pills, with a street value of about 1,500, and the car were seized by officers.The woman, a U.S. citizen, was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security, officials said. 1063
