CINCINNATI — Jonathan Frierson of Lincoln Heights, Ohio says he's honored to have known Sen. John McCain personally as his bus driver.“Driving the 'Straight Talk Express Coach' for Senator McCain,” Frierson told WCPO. “Got started in 2000. I was a backup driver.”  By February 2008, though, when McCain was running for president and made a campaign stop for a rally at Memorial Hall, Frierson was behind the wheel and standing beside the door when McCain got off the bus.McCain had called him in 2007 to take over, Frierson said.Frierson said he liked that McCain called him by his nickname.“He always called me 'Fry,' ” Frierson said.Frierson flipped through a scrapbook and saw himself in several photos and newspaper articles with McCain, who died Saturday after a long fight with brain cancer.“Felt honored," Frierson said. One picture in a newspaper clipping from Aug. 29, 2008 showed McCain and Frierson sitting side by side at a Skyline Chili. Coca-Cola said Friday that it would offer buyouts to 4,000 employees as part of corporate restructuring and said that layoffs could be coming in the future.According to a press release, the buyouts will be offered to employees in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico with a hire date "on or before" Sept. 1, 2017. The company said the "voluntary program" would reduce the number of layoffs.According to Coca-Cola's statement, the company's current operating model consists of "17 business units" that will be consolidated into "nine operating units."Following the announcement, Coca-Cola's stock price rose nearly a point in early trading, an increase of just under 2%.According to WSB-TV, Coca-Cola has more than 86,000 employees nationwide. Cloie Musumecci sent MTN News a brief video of a woman tripping and falling as a bison charged at her and another person in Yellowstone National Park.Cloie said in an email that the incident happened at Nez Perce Creek. She said the woman "is a Montana local so she knew to play dead in that situation."The woman was not injured and escaped "without a scratch," Cloie said. CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati Reds and Fox Sports Ohio broadcaster Thom Brennaman tells WCPO he has resigned from his position more than one month after he was suspended for using a homophobic slur on air.“My family and I have decided that I am going to step away from my role as the television voice of the Cincinnati Reds,” Brennaman wrote to WCPO. “I would like to thank the Reds, Reds fans, and the LGBTQ community for the incredible support and grace they have shown my family and me.“Brennaman has been suspended from the Cincinnati Reds since the Aug. 19 incident. He had been with the Reds since 2006.“I have been in this profession that I love for 33 years,” he wrote. “It is my hope and intention to return. And if I'm given that opportunity, I will be a better broadcaster and a much better person.“WCPO reached out to the Cincinnati Reds and Fox Sports Ohio for comment."The Reds respect Thom Brennaman’s decision to step away from the broadcast booth and applaud his heartfelt efforts of reconciliation with the LGBTQ+ community," team CEO Bob Castellini wrote in a statement.
