Streaming media company Netflix is raising its standard and premium plans for its US subscribers.According to Netflix, which announced the news on Thursday, the standard plan is now .99 a month, jumping up a from last year when it was .99 a month.The premium jumped up by and will now cost .99 a month.The company's basic plan will stay at .99 a month.Current subscribers will see their monthly bill increase in the coming weeks, USA Today reported.According to CNN, Netflix's stock increased 5% following the news. 540

State Superintendent Tony Evers defeated incumbent Gov. Scott Walker and will become the next governor of Wisconsin. Evers, a Democrat, won with 50 percent of the vote over the Republican governor Walker. The two were locked in a tight race, with the latest Marquette University Law poll showing the race at a dead heat. Walker has served as Wisconsin’s governor since 2011. Walker and Evers traded barbs over a number of topics, including healthcare. The two disagreed on whether Republicans would keep pre-existing conditions in the healthcare policy while dismantling other portions of the Affordable Care Act. A key element of Walker’s campaign was the issue of taxes, claiming if elected Evers would certainly raise them. In particular, he said Evers would raise the gas tax in the state of Wisconsin. Evers denied having such plans days before Election Day. The two also focused on education in Wisconsin. Evers, the state superintendent, said in a rally the night before the election he planned for a .5 billion increase in K-12 education. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Before the potentially catastrophic storm made landfall in the Florida Panhandle, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office in Tallahassee took a moment to gather and pray ahead of Hurricane Michael.The department posted photos and video of deputies meeting on Tuesday ahead of the storm.Michael quickly grew from a Category 1 to Category 4 storm in just a few days, packing 155 mph winds as it made landfall near Mexico Beach, Fla. at about 1:45 p.m.The sheriff's office asked "If you don't mind, say a prayer for all of the men and women working to keep our community safe."The department's Facebook post received almost 6,000 shares in about 18 hours. 678
