SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego police are searching for the person who fired a gun into a group of people injuring two teens late Saturday night.Two groups of people began arguing just before midnight at the corner of 30th Street and J Street in the Grant Hill neighborhood, about a block away from Kimbrough Elementary School.The gunman pulled out a handgun and shot a 16-year-old boy in the left calf and a 18-year-old male in the right ankle, authorities said.A possible third shooting victim was located at an area hospital with undisclosed injuries, according to police. No further information was given at this time.The incident is being investigated as gang-related shooting, police said.The suspect, who was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark shorts, fled in an unknown direction, police said. 831

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Retail stores across San Diego County are preparing for more restrictions in anticipation of a move into the state's COVID-19 purple tier.For retail stores, it would mean reduced capacity to 25%.At Warwick's in La Jolla, they're setting up window displays, not just to be festive, but also to help shoppers who may not feel comfortable coming inside the book store.Owner Nancy Warwick says she would support the decision if that's what it comes down to, but acknowledges they, like most, are struggling. They've been creative, offering more online shopping, phone orders, deliveries, and contact-free purchases.She says they'll turn one set of doors into an entrance, another the exit, to maintain a flow of traffic and a count of the number of people inside the store if they have to.For Warwick, it's about making her customers feel comfortable as well as her staff, some of whom she says have not returned to work because of safety concerns.Despite that, she is confident their online offerings and their emphasis on personal shopping will help them weather this round of restrictions, if it comes to that.Being in the store, she says, is uplifting, and provides a respite for customers who are looking for nostalgia, finding gifts there that are not available elsewhere. 1302

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police have identified the man shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent following a confrontation Friday.According to police, David Angel Villalobos-Baldovinos, 30, was shot by an agent after entering the US illegally.Police say Villalobos-Baldovinos, a Mexican National, tried to enter the US illegally and was confronted by an agent just before 6 p.m. October 23 in San Ysidro.Villalobos-Baldovinos reportedly fought with the agent, who police say received minor injuries during the scuffle. The agent then fired his weapon, hitting the suspect one time in the torso, police say. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County health officials reported Friday 11 hospitalizations due to vaping. Those who have been hospitalized range from 17 to 70 years old, according to County of San Diego Communications Specialist Tom Christensen. The illnesses come as U.S. health officials urge people to stop vaping until they can determine the cause of serious breathing illnesses. Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain and vomiting. Some 450 cases and as many as five deaths have been identified in 33 states, including California. However, many of those who were sickened said they had been vaping THC. There's been a split among public health experts about the value of vaping nicotine. Some argue e-cigarettes are not as lethal as conventional cigarettes and can be a valuable aide to smokers trying to kick the habit But others say studies have not established that adult smokers who try vaping end up quitting smoking long term. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Residents in Sherman Heights are worried about a new homeless storage facility expected to open up in their neighborhood. The facility would reportedly go up on the corner of 20th and Commerical streets. It would have up to 1,000 individual storage bins. People in Sherman Heights say they don't want the facility to be an eyesore and were never consulted by the city. The facility would be similar to one that already exists on 16th Street. That facility provides lockers and storage bins for approximately 400 people. The facility is city-funded but run by the non-profit organization Think Dignity. The city is hosting a community forum about the storage facility on Friday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Heights Community Center.  811
