IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities are investigating after a body was found along Imperial Beach Sunday morning. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, joggers told authorities they found a man in his 20s unresponsive in the water on the 700 block of Seacoast Drive. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead. The department says they suspect drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the death. The identity of the man hasn't been released at this time. 499

YORK, S.C. – A South Carolina woman pleaded guilty to fatally poisoning her husband by putting eye drops into his water for days. The woman, Lana Sue Clayton, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison. News outlets report that the 53-year-old pleaded guilty Thursday to voluntary manslaughter and tampering with a food or drug. Clayton admitted to giving her husband drinks laced with Visine. She poisoned him with the eye drops for three days in July 2018 before the poison eventually caused his death. Clayton says her husband was abusive and she didn't mean to kill him, but prosecutors say she killed him for his money. 634

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the San Diego region is near a record low in fuel moisture or dryness in brush. According to recently released data, San Diego County is drier than normal. Parts of Southern California show record dryness, including portions of Santa Barbara County. "(Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties) get a lot of fires this time of year. All they need is a small ignition, and it's off to the races," Cal Fire spokesman Issac Sanchez said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Downtown San Diego is expected to get a significant addition. Holland Partner Group, a developer, headquartered in Vancouver, Washington released renderings of the development planned for 220 West Broadway, where the old San Diego Courthouse sits. The building is a 37 stories high, with 431 residential units along with office space and retail. "It's a lot of glass, it's exciting, it's sexy. It's going to be a real centerpiece for the middle of downtown San Diego," said Sumeet Parekh with Downtown San Diego Partnership. "It's one of the densest high rise buildings in San Diego; it's gonna hit almost the height limit for downtown which is about 500 feet." Parekh says there is a high demand to live and work in downtown, and space is scarce, so building up is something that is becoming more and more common. "There are a number of projects that are being built that is in this height," Parekh said. "There are several other projects in the area that are as tall if not bigger."
