SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — President Donald Trump told reporters Saturday the United States may close its border crossings to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.Speaking from the White House, the President said his administration was "thinking about" possibly closing the country's borders to guard against the spread of COVID-19."We have ports of entry that we are keeping open. And we're not talking about it, we're thinking about all borders," President Trump said Saturday, when asked of the country's border with Mexico. "But right now that's not a border as it pertains to what we're talking about here. This is not a border that seems to be much of a problem right now. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police were searching for a suspect following a violent shooting in the Midway District on Wednesday night.San Diego Police said officers received a call of shots fire followed by a vehicle crashing into a building at Kenyon St. and Kemper St. just after 6 p.m. The car was located behind a shopping center in the 3600 block of Midway Dr., SDPD said.Officers arrived to find a man behind the steering wheel of a grey Acura that collided with a retaining wall. The man had been shot at least once. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim has not been identified but was described as a possible Hispanic male between 18 and 25 years old.Police are searching for a suspect, but say the investigation is still in its early stages. Witnesses heard a car speed off, but police did not immediately have a suspect description. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are asking for the public’s help identifying several suspects they say robbed a man before threatening him with a gun.The robbery happened on August 11 around 5:24 p.m. near the Forever 21 at Fashion Valley Mall.Police say the two suspects approached a 27-year-old and asked to use his iPhone before grabbing it and running away.When the victim ran after both men, the second suspect pulled a gun out of his waistband and told the victim he “did not want any of this.”RELATED: 0,000 stolen cello returned to ownerFearing he would be shot, the victim stopped chasing the suspects, who were last seen running toward Friars Road.
