SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a driver who reportedly hit two people crossing the street in East Village before running away. According to San Diego Police, the incident happened on the 300 block of 14th Street around 12:20 a.m. Sunday. Police say a 24-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were crossing 14th street in an unmarked crosswalk when the driver of a Ford Mustang attempted to make a U-turn, lost control and hit the pair. The crash left the woman pinned against the wall with a fractured hip and the man with abrasions, according to police. The driver ran away from the scene on foot and has yet to be located, police say. 658

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - More than 50 free health classes could come to community centers and libraries across San Diego. It would be part of a sponsorship deal the city is considering with Sharp HealthCare, in which Sharp would pay the city 0,000 a year for the right to market as the city's "Health and Wellness Partner."Sharp currently offers classes, many of them free, but most are at Sharp facilities.This arrangement, going before a city committee Wednesday, and ultimately before the City Council, would call for six free classes a year in each of the nine council districts, from Otay Mesa to Rancho Bernardo. Dr. Eunice Sanchez-Mata, of Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group, said patients usually see her once or twice a year."We're here educating them as best as we can, but really that education should be year long," she said. The classes would impart key information on ways to prevent heart disease, quit smoking, live with diabetes, and manage stress. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Psychiatrist Clark Smith, MD, shed light on the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s findings in Trevor Heitmann’s autopsy that revealed the 18-year old suffered from mania.Heitmann caused the fiery 805 crash on August 23 that ended not only his own life but the lives of Aileen, 43, and Aryana Pizarro, 12.The Medical Examiner’s report showed Heitmann died of blunt force injuries. Toxicology reports indicated there were no signs of drugs or alcohol in Heitmann’s system. So what led an otherwise healthy 18-year-old man to drive the wrong way at 100 mph? The Medical Examiner believed there was a long build-up to the crash. The reports stated, five days before the crash, Heitmann began showing signs of mania."The manic mood swing could be so powerful, that people lose contact with reality,” Dr. Smith said.Dr. Smith reviewed the autopsy reports with 10News. Although Heitmann had no history of depression or mental illness, Dr. Smith believed he might have been bipolar with manic tendencies. "The mood swing can change like that from being king of the world, on top of everything, to crashing, and being horribly depressed and suicidal,” Dr. Smith said. “My guess is he was feeling badly because of the setbacks that he had, losing his business and source of income. And that would be a time when he would be reactive and become more depressed.”Heitmann was a popular YouTube gamer with a successful business selling game pieces online. That was how he said he bought his high-end sports car. But earlier this year, his business was suddenly banned and shut down. The Medical Examiner said his parents noticed his mood changes and tried to get him help. They physically blocked his McLaren from leaving the driveway, and called authorities to report his behavior. But Dr. Smith believes at that point, Heitmann’s symptoms had progressed too far. “Most people who are suicidal, just take their own life, but some people are also homicidal,” Dr. Smith said. “And in this case, it's a murder-suicide. I think he had lethal intention. He didn't know who he was going to kill. But he knew he was going to kill someone."Dr. Smith said this was a true tragedy that was preventable. “This was treatable, and it’s just a heartbreak that he didn’t get treatment,” Dr. Smith said. He added bipolar manic depression is nothing to be ashamed of. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One of San Diego's most popular taco stops plans to expand across the county.City Tacos, which started in 2014 in North Park and added a La Mesa location in 2017, is preparing to open in four more locations around San Diego County. The shop is heading to Imperial Beach, Encinitas, Pacific Beach, and the Sorrento Valley area, according to City Tacos owner Gerald Torres."We've been expanding as rapidly as we can while being responsible," Torres said, noting when he used to open a store, he did so, "quietly and let people trickle in and take care of them."RELATED: List: San Diego's best Mexican restaurantsThe opening of the Imperial Beach location, however, will see a bit of a different welcoming. Free tacos will be given to the first 200 customers during its opening. Customers can expect many of the delicious taco creations found at other City Tacos locations, with the added benefit of pairing them with Mike Hess brews.To open, the IB stop will also offer tacos from local IB Street Tacos, including the carnitas, pollo asado and cameron enchilada tacos.
