DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV)— In 2021, the Super Bowl of horse racing will return to the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Horse racing officials announced the locations for the next three Breeders’ Cup.There’s something so charming about the city of Del Mar.“It shows our town so well,” Carol Goodell said. She owns Frustrated Cowboy, a little shop along Historic Route 101, dedicated to western wear and horses. It’s perfect for a city, with a world-famous race track.Friday afternoon, officials announced that the Breeders’ Cup 2021 would be returning to the Del Mar Fairgrounds.PHOTOS: The Breeders' Cup comes to Del Mar Fairgrounds“Hands down, it was one of the most successful events we’ve ever had,” President, CEO of the Breeders’ Cup Ltd., Craig Fravel, said.Last year was the event’s first time to be hosted in Del Mar. That translates to impressive numbers, off the track.“The economic impact is about 0 million in the region,” President, CEO of San Diego Tourism Authority, Joe Turzi, said. He also said last year, many people who came to experience the two-day event stayed in the area for an average of five days.For shop owners like Goodell, that means guaranteed business.“I see it and I feel it. Everybody’s everywhere,” Goodell said. “The Breeders’ Cup just has that little extra, and I just love it!”That love extends to customers like Pat Voines. He has traveled from across the country to Del Mar 25 years in a row to watch the races. He said the Breeders’ Cup last year was on another level.“Whether you won or lost, it didn’t make that much of a difference. It was just the experience,” Voines said.It’s an experience Goodell hopes to repeat come November 2021. “I think it will be even better than before if that’s possible,” she said.After this year’s races in Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, the races will return to Santa Anita in 2019, Keeneland, Ky., in 2020, and back to Del Mar in 2021. 2027

David Blaine, known for extreme stunts and illusions, has reached new heights. Literally.Blaine grabbed onto a bunch of helium balloons this week and floated up into the air above the Arizona desert. The stunt, called “Ascension,” was live streamed on YouTube Wednesday.He begins the video talking to his daughter among giant helium balloons in an airport hangar.“This is what I’ve been telling you about, that I’ve been dreaming about since I was your age,” Blaine tells her. He later says he wanted to do a stunt that “inspires” his daughter, and doesn’t scare her like past stunts may have.He was strapped to about 50 balloons with the goal of reaching about 18,000 feet into the air. The hour-long flight reached a height of 24,900 feet. At about two hours 45 minutes into the video, Blaine releases the balloons and begins skydiving toward earth, opening his parachute a few minutes later.“Wow! That was awesome, wow!” Blaine exclaims when he lands. The video shows his daughter get on the headset and talk to Blaine after he landed.“You did it! (KGTV) - Several homes have been burglarized during the past week in the hills of Olde Del Mar.Neighbors believe they're targeted because they're very freeway accessible; burglars can make a quick getaway.Michelle Angles was a victim."We're so close to the freeway that criminals are coming here because it's an easy pop onto the freeway right after they burglarize. We've had our car broken into; thousands of dollars of things taken."Monday afternoon, just minutes before two homes around the corner and a few blocks away were burglarized, her home surveillance video caught three shady characters ambling down the street."The video shows three young men walking along the sidewalk and they stop right here and you see them looking around and talking very softly.  They noticed the camera and immediately started walking away and one of the young men.. you can see him stop and walk up the grass and he looked into a window next door.  So they were casing houses in the neighborhood," Angles said.At the break-in five blocks away, thieves ransacked the house; stealing jewelry, electronics, cameras and photographic gear.  They also left behind an autographed Steven Tyler guitar with the authentication paperwork right next to it.  They also left many fingerprints on furniture they moved around.  The homeowner said they fed the dog, too; and though she appreciates that the dog wasn't hurt, she's hopeful the fingerprints will lead to arrests. 1517

Del Mar, Calif. (KGTV)- California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a series of gun bills into law Friday, including a bill that will prohibit gun and ammunition shows at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The bill was authored by State Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-78)."People have the right to continue to buy guns at private establishments. The state just shouldn't have a role in facilitating the flow of guns into neighborhoods where children are killed," Gloria told 10News in an interview shortly after returning from the bill signing in Sacramento.Gloria was inspired to act by anti-gun violence advocates who began protesting the Crossroads of the West Gun Show, held five times each year at the Fairgounds. Groups such as "Never Again CA" began the protests shortly after the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida.Crossroads President Tracy Olcott told 10News the company plans to sue the stop the law from taking effect. "Gun shows are not the place where gun violence is created. We're the ones who are educating about gun safety and I think when you have an environment where you can talk about it and educate people, I think that's an important part of curbing gun violence."The next gun show will be held in December. Dates for five more have already been scheduled for 2020, before the new law goes into effect. 1328

DETROIT — Investigators raided Perry Funeral Home in Detroit late Friday afternoon and have removed nearly 63 infant remains, according to Detroit Police. Officers found 36 fetuses in cardboard boxes and 27 more in freezers. The conditions of the fetuses are unknown.The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has revoked the funeral home's license and shut the facility down. 428
