A 3-year-old boy died after falling into a restaurant grease trap Monday morning in Rochester, New York, police said.Rochester Police Department Investigator Francis Camp said they believe the boy fell through a plastic lid that gave way and into the grease trap embedded in the ground outside a Tim Hortons restaurant.The grease trap was covered with a green plastic lid -- much like a manhole cover -- that helped it blend into the surrounding grass, he said."The lid was on there, it looks like the child ran across it and it popped open and he fell into the trap," he said.The grease trap is 2-and-a-half feet in diameter, according to police.Camp said a witness found the child in the grease trap minutes after he was reported missing. The witness saw the boy and pulled him from the trap and started administering CPR, Camp said. The boy's name has not been released.Attempts were made to revive the boy but they were unsuccessful, according to Camp."We have a horrifying episode here that happened today," he said. "We're asked all the time, 'What's the worst thing you encounter as a police officer?' and this is number one."The medical examiner's office told CNN the cause of death will be released in coming days.The city is currently pouring concrete around the opening in the ground where the grease trap was located and putting a metal lid on it, according to Camp.CNN reached out to the NY Buildings Administrative Enforcement Unit to ask if this location's grease interceptor was up to code.Tim Hortons provided CNN with the following statement:"What occurred today was a tragedy and on behalf of the Tim Hortons family, we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young boy who passed away. Tim Hortons is fully cooperating with authorities. A 6.0-magnitude earthquake shook Puerto Rico Monday night, striking off the coast of the island in the Atlantic Ocean.The quake hit about 49 miles north-northwest of Isabela, Puerto Rico, around 11:23 p.m. ET, according to the United States Geological Survey.At least three aftershocks have followed the quake including a magnitude 4.7, USGS said.Puerto Rico Gov. A 12-year veteran of the New York Police Department is accused of putting a hit on her ex-husband and a juvenile girl.A confidential source told the FBI that in February Valerie Cincinelli, 34, had asked him to hire a hitman to kill her estranged husband and the source's daughter, according to court documents.Cincinelli allegedly gave the source ,000 in cash to pay the hitman, and over the next few months they discussed how to kill the two and establish solid alibis, the documents said.Cincinelli allegedly told the source to make her husband's death look like a robbery and to run over the source's daughter -- a minor-- with a car.Authorities say she tracked the girl's whereabouts on social media and plotted how to arrange their deaths with the source until Friday, when she was told by a Suffolk County Police Department detective that her estranged husband had died and there would be an investigation. About a half an hour later, the source showed her photos of the crime scene the hitman had sent via text, the documents said.But that hitman was actually an FBI agent, and that day she was arrested for attempting to hire someone to commit murders, according to the documents.Cincinelli appeared in court on Friday and was held without bail, according to CNN affiliate 1295

However, obesity is more complex than calories and exercise.Those who know the disease best are working to change the perception of possible solutions. Jeanine Sherman's first thought on weight loss surgery was similar to a common perception: it's the easy way out or a last-resort method to lose weight. “And I thought, ‘really? Bariatric surgery? Am I to that point?’” she says. At 5-foot-5-inches tall and around 230 pounds, Sherman’s primary care doctor told her she was a candidate when she asked about weight loss medication. At the time, Sherman had a very high BMI but no other weight-related health issues. For three years, Sherman researched ways she could avoid surgery. “If I copy this lifestyle, live the lifestyle of a bariatric patient and if I learned their daily eating habits, their exercise habits, well then I can lose the weight and not have bariatric surgery,” she recalls thinking. After gaining 30 additional pounds, Sherman decided surgery was best. “I tell anybody that I talk to that, that day is one of the top ten days of my life,” she says.
