(KGTV) — A dog and tortoise had to be rescued from a Fontana property after becoming stuck in a hole together.The odd scene played out Wednesday, after San Bernardino County firefighters responded to a report of a man and dog falling into a hole. When responders arrived, the man was out of the hole but the dog, a German Shepard named Taylor, was still trapped, according to SBFD.Taylor had brought a blanket into the tunnel, dug by 70-pound tortoise named Godzilla. The blanket had wedged Taylor and Godzilla together and prevented them from getting free, firefighters say.Firefighters worked to untangle the two animals, digging away dirt from around the tunnel and coaxing Godzilla out with some lettuce until the two were free.Both animals belong to the property owner where the tunnel started, SBFD says. (CNN) -- The US believes late al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's son Hamza bin Laden is dead, a US official told CNN on Wednesday.The official said the US had a role in his death but did not provide details. The official added that the US government recently received evidence that it believes corroborates his death.The New York Times reported that Hamza bin Laden had been killed in an operation within the last two years.Earlier this year the US State Department called bin Laden, who is believed to be in his early 30s, an "emerging" leader in the terror group al Qaeda, offering a million-dollar reward for information leading to his capture.The New York Times, citing two US officials, said "the United States government had a role in the operation that killed the younger Mr. bin Laden, but it was not clear precisely what that role was."CNN terrorism analyst Paul Cruickshank said one thing is puzzling researchers who are closely tracking al Qaeda: "If Hamza bin Laden has indeed been dead for months, you would expect al Qaeda to have released some form of eulogy before today. (KGTV) - A San Bernardino County woman is suing the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and state Natural Resources Agency for not acknowledging the existence of Bigfoot.Claudia Ackley told The Press-Enterprise she ran into the long-fabled creature while hiking in Lake Arrowhead last year. Ackely said she was hiking late one March day when she and her two daughters ran into a Sasquatch."I ran into a Sasquatch – a Bigfoot. We were face to face. He was 30 feet up in the tree," Akley told the paper. "He looked like a Neanderthal man with hair all over him. He had solid black eyes. He had no expression on his face at all. He did not show his teeth. (KGTV) -- Democrat Juan Vargas has won reelection to the U.S. House in the 51st Congressional District, the Associated Press says. He faced Republican Juan Hidalgo. Juan Vargas was first elected in 2013. He served on the committee of financial services and the committee of foreign affairs from 2019 to 2020.Vargas previously served on the State Senate representing the 40th District, the State Assembly in the 79th District, and the San Diego City Council.Hidalgo is a retired US Marine. He faced Vargas in 2018 with Vargas capturing 71 percent of the vote.The district includes all of Imperial County and the southern part of San Diego County including National City, Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, and El Centro. 721

Gavin Newsom's desk for approval.Assembly Bill 2152, known as "Bella’s Act," would ban the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits, while allowing stores to partner with rescues and shelters for adoption events. The bill stops pet stores from receiving any money from adoption transactions or from using the store or its resources in connection with adoption events.Assemblymember Todd Gloria, of San Diego, introduced the bill in February 2020. Bella sold for thousands of dollars.
