I was like, 'Oh My God!' Father Son Holy Spirit," she said crossing herself, "and I dropped to my knees."Muno had a career in aviation, performing duties from flight attendant to loading the aircraft and working on flight plans. Just watching the video made her tear up, knowing his safe landing was a miracle."We're all blessed. If I had lost Ryan, but he saved so many people," she said wiping away a tear.Muno said Ryan's been an instructor for two years, pursuing his second dream after a concussion during a baseball game changed his trajectory."When he was a little baby he used to lay down in the first class cabin and just go to sleep," she said he found his love of flying from growing up traveling with her. After his emergency landing, she's not too keen on him jumping back into the cockpit.Last night she urged him to hang out with his friends, or his father, "because if I get you, I'm never going to let you go," she said choking back tears. She said Ryan is probably going to go back to work tomorrow. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The former gang member who killed San Diego Police officer Archie Buggs in 1978 was granted parole suitability Thursday.Jesus Cecena was 17 years old when he opened fire on Officer Buggs during a traffic stop in Skyline. According to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, Cecena fired five times at Buggs, then paused, walked toward the fallen officer and fired a final bullet into his head at point blank range. The officer died on the street, his hand still on his service revolver.Cecena was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. His term was later modified, due to a change in law making him eligible for Youth Offender Parole.Cecena has been denied parole at least 13 times. Governor Brown reversed the parole board’s decisions to release Cecena in 2014, 2015 and 2017, citing the seriousness of the crime.RELATED: San Diego Police honor officer shot and killed by gang memberIn 2014, 10News reported that Cecena’s unstable social history continued during his incarceration, where authorities said he received more than ten violation reports for misconduct while in prison.Thursday’s parole board recommendation will move into a 150-day review period, according to a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesman. After that period, the Governor will have 30 days to uphold, reverse, modify, send it to the full Board of Commissioners for another review, or take no action. The parole review period will end in January 2019, after the end of Governor Jerry Brown's term, leaving the decision in the hands of his successor. 1609

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The family of Kimberly Fattorini is suing former San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman in connection with her fatal overdose, according to a TMZ Sports report.Fattorini's parents claim Merriman drugged and assaulted their daughter before she died at a house party in 2017, the report says.In a statement, Merriman's representatives said they are unaware of the lawsuit and that the original police investigation found no wrongdoing by the former NFL star. Her parents say Fattorini and her friends were invited to a club promoter's house party, and that Merriman "was allegedly witnessed carrying a bottle with some sort of liquid inside."At some point during the party, she texted the promoter saying, "you friend just poor'd half G in my drink," the lawsuit says. Her "parents believe G refers to GHB," the TMZ report says.Per the report, Fattorini's parents claim that first responders found her unresponsive and "half naked with jeans unzipped and buttoned" at a party in Los Angeles. A preliminary autopsy listed her death caused by a lethal cocktail of alcohol, cocaine, and gamma-hydroxybutyrate -- the last more commonly known as the "date rape" drug GHB.The suit alleges that while her autopsy did not reveal foul play, "a test for sexual assault wasn't done because officials said it wasn't conducted at the time of the initial autopsy, and couldn't be done properly afterward," the report says. The "complaint claims negligence, battery and a violation of the drug dealer liability act," and the Fattorinis are seeking damages, TMZ Sports reports.Merriman's representative told TMZ, "As of right now Shawne, nor his attorney, have any knowledge of him being named in any lawsuit. This alleged lawsuit is baseless. Shawne attended an after party more than two years ago where a young woman unfortunately overdosed.""The police thoroughly investigated and found no wrong doing whatsoever by Shawne. The fact that they are raising this now, two years after the fact, demonstrates the baseless nature of these allegations," the statement read.Fattorini, 30, is known for her work on The Hands of Time (2014), The Hi-Life (2012) and Badass! (2010), according to her IMDb profile page.Merriman played with the San Diego Chargers from 2005 to 2010 and retired from the NFL in 2013. 2319

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The Chicano Federation is once again calling on San Diego County officials to do more to help curb the high numbers of COVID-19 among Latinos. On Wednesday, the organization released a statement regarding county numbers breaking down the number of contact tracing hires by ethnicity. Of the county's recent hires, 144 are Latino or Hispanic, that makes up 25.5% of the hires. Chicano Federation President and CEO Nancy Maldonado said county officials had told them they would hire people from within the community, that spoke Spanish, to serve as contact tracers. However, in Wednesday's statement, Maldonado said, "They lied." Maldonado has been an outspoken critic of the county and their response to how COVID-19 is disproportionately affecting Latinos. Data from the county shows there are roughly 34% of Latinos in the county, but they make up 61% of the positive cases. During Wednesday's county press conference, Supervisors Greg Cox and Nathan Fletcher each addressed the concerns. Fletcher said the county's goal is to have contact tracers who match not only the demographics of the population, but also the demographics of the positive cases. Fletcher added that they are doing outreach to get more applicants and also more Spanish speakers. Maldonado told 10News she is confident the county will get it done, but says she wants to see more action, instead of hearing about plans for what they are going to do. 1449
