A family in Alberta returned to their car on Monday to find a giant bison licking the road salt off of their car. "As we watched, the owners of the car returned from their hike, and were trying to figure out how to get in the car very respectfully," said the unidentified videographer. A federal court in Washington, DC, has unsealed five search warrants that special counsel Robert Mueller obtained while investigating Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former lawyer and fixer.The newly unsealed documents show how Mueller had a judge's permission to follow the money from Russian sources to Trump's personal lawyer, and had reason to look into Cohen's extensive contacts with Russian government-linked individuals, some of which began on the day Trump won the presidency.The documents are from 2017, before Mueller referred the Cohen investigation to federal prosecutors in Manhattan, and generally show how Mueller was allowed to dive into Cohen's email accounts, including his Trump Organization email address.In a search warrant application from July 2017, prosecutors outlined how Cohen started communicating with a Russian-connected company on Election Day. Over the next year, there were more than 1,000 calls and text messages between Cohen and the CEO of that company, Columbus Nova.In the filing, Mueller's team made it clear that Cohen began contacting the company immediately after the election: "Telephone records show no such text messages or telephone calls between COHEN's cellular telephone and the CEO of Columbus Nova prior to November 8, 2016."Columbus Nova is an American company linked to Viktor Vekselberg, a prominent Russian oligarch. At the root of that: orders to stay home. “The authority lies with the governor and in a number of jurisdictions that authority can also be devolved down to mayors,” said Meryl Chertoff, executive director of Georgetown Law’s Project on State and Local Government Policy and Law. She said things like stay-at-home orders, curfews and non-essential business closings, all have legal footing. “There is some question as to whether these are voluntary at this point, or whether they are mandatory, but there is no doubt that if you took these to court right now, they would be sustained by a court,” she said. They are also enforceable, she said. If you were to break the law, you’d likely be charged with a misdemeanor. However, Chertoff said there is something even bigger she is keeping an eye on. “What I am more concerned about, candidly, are the violation of civil rights of individual and loss of the right to travel,” she said. “So, one of the things that I've been thinking about is what about the right to cross state lines.” There are a growing number of state rules now in place about travel. A gunman killed two people in the parking lot of a Walmart in Duncan, Oklahoma, on Monday morning before turning the gun on himself, police Chief Danny Ford said.The Duncan Police Department said a man and woman had been killed in a car parked at the Walmart.
