LONDON, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Britain is a very important step forward on the basis of what had been building for the relationship of China and Britain, an official said Tuesday.
Osborne said Britain is pleased to see strengthened cooperation between the two countries and is willing to expand mutual investments and major projects cooperation with China.
The Belt and Road initiative was proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 as a trade and infrastructure network. It will connect Asia to Europe and Africa through the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, and is aimed at improving infrastructure, financial cooperation and cultural exchanges.
"I think it is fair to say that all these countries have improved and increased their bilateral relationship with China just as they have improved their relationship with the United States," Nehru said.
