A video showed the man apparently being punched and kicked in the head by demonstrators.A police spokesperson told The Oregonian that the man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. According to The Oregonian, some people tried to hold the assailants back, while others rummaged through the man's truck.A peaceful protest took place blocks away outside a U.S. courthouse. Demonstrations, often violent, have happened nightly in Portland for more than two months following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.The incident is still under investigation and no one has been arrested, The Oregonian reported. 938

President Donald Trump confirmed Monday that he will sign an emergency declaration for the state of Iowa following a derecho that blasted the state last week.At its peak, the storm packed winds of 112 MPH, and caused devastation in widespread areas.“I just approved an emergency declaration for Iowa, who had an incredible wind storm like probably they’ve never seen before. It really did a lot of damage,” Trump said. “So I’ve informed the governor; I’ve informed Senator Grassley and Senator Joni Ernst. So I’ve approved the declaration — emergency declaration for Iowa.”Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said that 8,273 homes were destroyed or suffered major damage. Reynolds requested billion in federal assistance following the storms.“From cities to farms, Iowans are hurting, many still have challenges with shelter, food, and power. Resilience is in our DNA, but we’re going to need a strong and timely federal response to support recovery efforts,” said Gov. Reynolds. “I have formally requested an expedited Presidential Major Disaster Declaration to secure this critical federal assistance as quickly as possible. This past week I had conversations with President Trump and Vice President Pence, both have pledged the full support of the federal government. President Donald Trump announced Tuesday he is quitting the Iran nuclear deal, pitting him against the United States' closest allies and leaving the future of Tehran's nuclear ambitions in question."I am announcing today that the United States will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal," Trump said from the White House."It is clear to me that we cannot prevent an Iranian nuclear bomb under the decaying and cotton structure of the current agreement," he said. "The Iran deal is defective at its core. If we do nothing we know exactly what will happen."In announcing his decision, Trump will initiate new sanctions to go forward, crippling the touchstone agreement negotiated by his predecessor, according to a US official and a person familiar with the plan."The so-called Iran deal was supposed to protect the United States and our allies from the lunacy of an Iranian nuclear bomb, a weapon that will only endanger the survival of the Iranian regime," the President said. "In fact, the deal allowed Iran to continue enriching uranium and over time reach the brink of a nuclear breakout."The President added: "Today, we have definitive proof that this Iranian promise was a lie."Senior Trump administration officials -- including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats -- have said Iran is adhering to its commitments under the deal. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man who went missing from Poway Saturday night has been found safe. Authorities said Sunday morning that 84-year-old Orlando H. Lugo was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night. Lugo suffers from memory loss.He was later spotted around 9:20 a.m. walking along the side of southbound Interstate 15 near Scripps Poway Parkway. He has previously walked from Poway to Mira Mesa and Escondido. Lugo was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.  508
