SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Just a few hours, and a few miles apart, San Diego Mayoral candidates Todd Gloria and Barbary Bry launched their final push for the upcoming election.A recent ABC 10News/Union-Tribune Survey USA poll shows a statistical dead-heat between the two candidates, with Gloria holding a slim 39-38% advantage over Bry. But that same poll also shows 24% of voters are still undecided."It's in times like these you want to be in the fight," Gloria said while holding an event outside of his campaign headquarters.Gloria spent the morning surrounded by the Local 145 Firefighters Union, as well as County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher and Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher. Gloria told ABC 10News his experience makes him the best candidate."The stakes will only get higher. And if the right people with the right priorities aren't in these positions, the things you care about the most just fall away," said Gloria.Bry, meanwhile, led a car caravan through parts of South San Diego, highlighting the ways she wants to invest in the poorest neighborhoods. She says the coronavirus pandemic highlights the need to bring new jobs to those areas."It is so important to diversify our economy away from tourism and to train the next generation for higher-paying jobs in tech and biotech construction, accounting, finance, and to help those who will still be working in our hospitality sector get back on their feet," says Bry.A recent SANDAG study shows 176,000 San Diegans are still unemployed from the Pandemic, and the region will lose .4 billion in 2020. The recovery will likely be the next mayor's biggest challenge."It is time for the residents of San Diego to take back City Hall. To take it from the special interest that had been running the city for too long," says Bry."Whether it's the COVID pandemic, the resulting economic recession, the demands for racial justice, or the climate crisis, there are a multitude of challenges, all coming at once. I think that demands a leader with experience and I happen to be that candidate," says Gloria. 2072

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- If you're feeling a little behind on your sleep schedule, Wednesday is your day to catch up! February 28 is National Public Sleeping Day. Don't take it too far though, you might get in trouble if you nap at work! There are different types of naps, according to nationaldaycalendar.com. "The Power Nap is approximately 10 to 20 minutes long and can give a boost of energy to get us through the rest of the day," the website writes. "It also doesn’t leave us drowsy like some longer naps might and will also allow us to fall asleep at a decent time at night."Our Scripps Digital Producer created the above note for you to take to work or school. It probably won't work...but it least it will make you smile. Good luck catching up on zzz's!   802

The new restaurant plans to open in Fall 2019.The on-site brewery will give Puesto the opportunity to develop their own beer program, after collaborations with San Diego and Mexico breweries for years, in addition to its signature margaritas and cocktails.“The Puesto team has been doing cervecería collaborations for years now, working primarily with cervecerías in Mexico to create our own San Diego meets Mexico cervezas," Puesto co-owner Eric Adler said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Like most people who’ve worked decades towards retirement, Danielle Schulte has some ideas on how she’ll spend it."Initially I’m going to sleep in late, read the newspaper, yes, I still read paper!”Schulte is an Employee Relation Specialist for UC San Diego and hopes to retire in about six years. While she's been saving since graduating college, Schulte wishes she'd saved more, especially watching the market plunge in recent days.“Because I am getting close to retirement, I don’t have as much comfort in giving it time to even out,” said Schulte. She hired a financial advisor 13 years ago and continues to fine-tune her plan, currently looking into annuities."He has been really good in helping me not to panic, helping me invest my money in stable securities as best you can, given the market," said Schulte.Dennis Brewster is a financial advisor for SagePoint Financial. He too says it's not the time to panic.“Right now we’re down about 10 percent, that’s normal, it’s just that we haven’t had anything for so long, I think that's what makes it a little tougher, we haven’t had any declines," said Brewster. "We’ve been spoiled a little bit the last few years, on average [the decline] is usually 14 percent a year.”However, Brewster says those looking to retire soon need to pay attention and plan ahead with their 401(k)."The last thing you want to do is get too aggressive going into retirement, so somebody getting closer to retirement should be concerned, they don't want to get too extreme but do want to be a little more careful because you don't have 30 years to make it up."Schulte remains confident in the groundwork she’s laid on her retirement plan and is hopeful she can turn off the alarm clock for good in six years.  1772
