(KGTV) - The City of San Diego may want to learn a lesson from Santa Monica when it comes to rental scooters.Santa Monica just created new parking spaces for the electric scooters and e-bikes called Shared Mobility Drop Zones. After numerous complaints about riders leaving the scooters on sidewalks, the city decided to take action.San Diego has several bike and scooter companies providing rentals, including Bird and Lime.When asked about the possibility of creating similar parking spaces locally, a spokesman for Mayor Kevin Faulconer said, "The City is looking at a variety of ways to encourage the use of alternative modes of transportation, while keeping the public right of way clean and safe. As an example, we are in the process of installing more than 100 bicycle racks in different parts of the City. The crash happened at Sandy Pawz, 630 Nordahl Road, as a crowd looked on. The driver was reportedly distracted by her own dog. “She decided to help me drive, and jumped up,” said the woman who only wanted to be identified as Robin. “Everything was crashing down on my windshield and I didn't know what was in front of me.” The car went past the front lobby and through drywall into a second room. “I consider myself a very smart person but I froze out of fear...fear, and then I thought I was going to die.” No pets or people were harmed. SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — Authorities in Northern California say a 70-year-old man has died in one of the three giant wildfires burning around the San Francisco Bay Area. The man had been reported missing and authorities used a helicopter to reach the location where they found him in the rural community of Last Chance in Santa Cruz County.
