NEW YORK (AP) — A statue of late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be built in her native Brooklyn. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the memorial Saturday. Ginsburg died Friday of complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer at age 87. A legal trailblazer and champion of women’s rights, she became the high court’s second female justice in 1993. Cuomo, a Democrat, said that he’ll appoint a commission to choose an artist and oversee the selection of a location for the statue. Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn in 1933 and grew up in the borough’s Flatbush neighborhood. 596

NEW YORK (AP) — Facebook says hackers accessed data from 29 million accounts as part of the security breach disclosed two weeks ago.The exact number hadn't been known before. Originally Facebook said 50 million accounts could have been affected, but Facebook didn't know if they had been misused. The hackers accessed name, email addresses or phone numbers from those 29 million accounts. For 14 million of those accounts, hackers got even more data, such as hometown, birthdate, the last 10 places they checked into or 15 most recent searches. One million accounts were affected but hackers didn't gain information. The social media service plans to send messages to people whose accounts were hacked.RELATED: What to do if your Facebook account is breachedFacebook said third-party apps and Facebook apps like WhatsApp and Instagram were unaffected by the breach.Facebook said the FBI is investigating, but asked the company not to discuss who may be behind the attack.Previously, Facebook said the attackers gained the ability to "seize control" of those user accounts by stealing digital keys the company uses to keep users logged in. They could do so by exploiting three distinct bugs in Facebook's code. The company said it has fixed the bugs and logged out affected users to reset those digital keys.RELATED: Facebook removing more than 550 pages, 250 accounts spreading false informationAt the time, CEO Mark Zuckerberg — whose own account was compromised — said attackers would have had the ability to view private messages or post on someone's account, but there's no sign that they did.If you believed your account was hacked, you can start by visiting Facebook's online resource. 1708

New heart health research found that taking a low-dose daily aspirin to cut chances of a heart attack or stroke may have risks that outweigh the benefits. The latest studies revealed the effects of the blood-thinning, anti-inflammatory drug on patients, who did not yet develop heart disease or other heart-related issues but were at moderate risk.Research found aspirin does help patients with diabetes, who are at higher risk to develop or die from heart problems. However, the risk of serious bleeding far outweighed the benefit of taking the drug. The study found aspirin was not effective in preventing heart attacks or strokes for moderate risk patients, because they had other health issues, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and smoking.Doctors also cautioned using fish oil supplements, instead of aspirin, would have similar disappointing results. Instead, health professionals suggest eating fish to improve your heart’s health.Fish oil may be more beneficial for people who have already suffered a heart attack. 1043

New safety measures are now in place at airports across the country.“Anyone in the airport must wear a mask at all times while in the airport,” said Stacey Stegman, spokesperson for Denver International Airport. While travel is down, new safety options are going up after vending machines offering personal protective equipment arrived.“It’s new, it’s different and it’s a stark reminder of the world that we are in today and traveling under these circumstances,” Stegman said. The price for PPE is for two surgical masks with hand sanitizer and a tray cleaner, and for two KN95 masks, hand sanitizer and a tray cleaner.“If it takes the masks to get our concerts back, then I’m all for it,” said Brad Michaels, who has traveled the world as drummer for the band Good Charlotte.Michaels flies private as often as possible but while traveling commercial, he says protection is a priority.“I think it’s a good thing,” he said of PPE vending machines. “I think the price is a little ridiculous: two masks for but we’re at the airport, so.”Now more airports like McCarran International in Las Vegas are also carrying these PPE vending machines. In New York City, PPE vending machines have hit the streets and have even gone underground.David Edelman is with Rapid Mask2Go. He noticed a demand for PPE and installed these vending machines across the city with plans to expand across the East Coast.“This was a cost effective, quick way to get more masks in the hands of as many people as possible,” he said.Because whether on the subway or in the sky, this is the new norm of traveling during the COVID-19 era. 1619
