KGTV - The Department of Fair Employment and Housing has filed a civil rights lawsuit on behalf of an Oceanside woman who says her life is threatened by the chemicals the North County Transit District uses for weeds.Judy Kane has multiple chemical sensitivities and says she has trouble breathing along with going outside anytime the NCTD sprays herbicides around the tracks near her house.“I call it shelter in place,” said Kane, “I cannot do my normal day to day activities.”Kane had a reasonable accommodation agreement made roughly 10 years ago via email with NCTD and the agency used to weed wack the four block row near her house instead of using chemicals.However, at the end of 2016 NCTD began spraying again, dissolving their agreement.The lawsuit is asking NCTD to stop using the chemicals in the area around Kane’s home and also pay Kane’s expenses from medical episodes which occurred after the spraying began.NCTD did not return 10News request for comment. 977

One big question that many are now asking: If you've already had the virus, should you get the vaccine when it becomes available? "Certainly right now, it's looking like they are going to recommend people that have had COVID to go ahead and get the vaccine when it's available to them, based either on their job or on their other health conditions," said Dr. Sarah Boyd, infectious diseases physician at Saint Luke's Health System.Boyd said it is important for everyone to get the vaccine, even those who already have had COVID-19."We know the majority of people that are at about 90 days, but there are some that probably longer," Boyd said. "Over the next few months, there will be information I am sure coming out about the natural course of immunity and if at some point you are at risk to get reinfection."Amanda Finley tested positive for the coronavirus twice and wants to get the vaccine as soon as she can."For me, I haven't had adverse reactions before, but the only way to know if it is going to affect long-haulers is if we try it," Finley said. JULIAN (CNS) - Three Cal Fire San Diego firefighters suffered minor injuries while dousing a blaze at a home in a rural area southwest of Julian, authorities said Tuesday.The fire was reported shortly before 8:40 p.m. Monday at a home on Pine Ridge Avenue in the unincorporated Pine Hills community, Cal Fire San Diego Capt. Issac Sanchez said.When firefighters arrived at the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames, but the home's residents were able to get out safely.Crews doused the blaze and had the flames knocked down by 10:20 p.m., the state agency reportedThree firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries but were released back to duty that night, Sanchez said.The American Red Cross was called in to help the displaced residents arrange for temporary lodging. 810
