LEXINGTON, Ky. -- A teenager died Sunday after being shot at a mall in Lexington, Kentucky. The Fayette County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 17-year-old Kenneth Wayne Bottoms Jr., of Lexington. Bottoms was transported UK Medical Center at about 4 p.m where he was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m.Two other victims were also injured in the shooting, which police say happened in front of a Bath and Body Works at Fayette Mall. Police Chief Lawrence Weathers said at least one of the victims and a suspect knew each other. They may have had an interaction prior to the shooting.Officers are currently interviewing witnesses. No suspects are in custody at this point.Scripps station WLEX interviewed one Lexington shopper who was inside Bath and Body Works. She says she witnessed an argument outside of the shop that escalated when someone pulled out a gun."Held it up at face level... and he shot four shots off," said the shopper.The shopper, who wished to remain anonymous, says she was escorted with others toward the back of the store."We stayed in the bathroom until police got us out of the service door to Bath and Body Works, and they walked us around all of the blood to take us outside," said the shopper.Mark Thomas was inside his shop, Bourbon Creek, when he saw a group of people run by with sheer panic on their faces. His store was packed at the time, so the retired Lexington police detective quickly jumped into action."We had several customers that were wanting to leave, and we have a back door into the parking lot, so we were able to help evacuate people through the store. That's one of the things you want to do as a former police officer is you want to facilitate people getting to safety," said Thomas. 1742

LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A woman was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver while out jogging Monday night. The driver, identified as Michael Woodfill, was driving a Chevy work truck on North Woodside Avenue, east of Riverford Road around 6:30 p.m. when he began to drift off the road and hit a chain link fence, according to California Highway Patrol. It was at this point that Woodfill then attempted to correct the vehicle. In doing so, he overcorrected - sending the truck across the eastbound and westbound lanes. The truck continued moving north, where it hit and killed the female jogger before going down a dirt embankment and overturning. CHP said the female jogger suffered major injuries in the crash and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital where she later died of her injuries. Woodfill stayed on scene after the crash and it was there that officers determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. The 46-year-old was arrested for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. LAS VEGAS (AP) — President Donald Trump is beginning his day with a rare visit to church as he and Democratic rival Joe Biden campaign across the country from one another in key states with the Nov. 3 election close at hand. Trump is attending services at the nondenominational International Church of Las Vegas. Later, he'll raise money in Newport Beach, California, and hold an evening rally in Carson City, Nevada. Biden’s schedule puts him in North Carolina for a voter mobilization event in Durham and a virtual meeting with African American faith leaders. LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials have raised the budget to .9 billion for the 65,000-seat Las Vegas Stadium being built for the NFL's relocated Raiders and UNLV football.The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the stadium authority board on Thursday approved million in construction additions. They include 20 more suites and a field-level club area to be paid for by personal and club seat sales that weren't part of the original budget.The stadium is due to open in 2020 just off the Las Vegas Strip. Taxpayers are funding 0 million of the project.Plans call for a translucent roof, a natural grass field and sliding doors that can open to view the Strip.The facility will be managed by a division of live-entertainment company AEG.Project officials say construction is about halfway complete. 803
