SEATTLE (KGTV) -- Officials in Washington are investigating a hijacking from Sea-Tac Airport Friday night. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, the plane was stolen by a 29-year-old suicidal man. The Pierce County Sheriff confirms that the stolen Horizon airplane crashed into Ketron Island. Preliminary information is that a mechanic from an unknown airline stole the plane and was doing stunts in the air and lack of flying skills caused the person to crash. Two military F-15 chased the plane but were not involved in the crash.  581

(KGTV) — FBI investigators are asking the public for help finding the suspect who robbed a Chase Bank location in San Marcos on Wednesday.The FBI and San Diego Sheriff's Department say the suspect entered the Chase Bank at 348 South Twin Oaks Valley Road at about 11:45 a.m. and waited in line. He approached the counter and produced a handwritten note that said, "Give me all your 50's and 100's and give me the note back."The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the scene on foot.Investigators described the suspect as a white male, between 25 and 30 years old, standing 5' 11", and with a thin build. SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - A Caltrans project to expand an SR-78 ramp in North San Diego County has some residents concerned about their safety.Crews have been working on the Woodland Parkway on-ramp to improve the flow of traffic to the freeway. Eventually, there will be an additional lane at the Woodland and Barham on-ramps.Residents told 10News the construction set-up is too dangerous for drivers.“I'm saying a prayer before I get on the ramp cause you really need it,” said Jacqueline Duron.She also said the ramp set-up doesn’t give drivers enough time to speed up and merge onto the freeway safely.“A lot of the times all the lanes are packed - so there's nowhere for anybody to go - and drivers going up the ramp getting smashed on the cement wall,” said Duron.Neighbors also posted concerns on the NextDoor app, calling the situation a ‘death trap’.Crash statistics for the Woodland Parkway ramp to westbound SR-78 show a slight uptick from last year, with seven crashes to the previous year’s five.Even though the number of accidents were slightly higher this year compared to 2017, the CHP says the numbers do not support the existence of an issue.10News talked with Caltrans about neigbors' concerns. SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) - It’s been two days since 29 year old Frank Stricker drove his truck into a crowd of street vendors near the border in Mexico. Court records from Utah show Stricker should have never been behind the wheel in the first place because he has a suspended license. The court records show Stricker has been arrested six times since 2008 in Utah and has 47 criminal charges, all mostly drug related. RELATED: 'We were fleeing for our lives.' Passenger speaks out after Tijuana crashStricker was last arrested on May 6, 2019. Police say he was driving on a suspended license, without a registration and no proof of insurance. Police say he also had drug paraphernalia in the vehicle when they pulled him over. Mexican authorities tell 10News Stricker is facing charges of attempted homicide and property damages. They expect him to be arraigned Thursday in Mexican court. In the crash Monday afternoon, Stricker hit 17 vehicles, 12 vendor carts and injured three people. SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) — Palomar Community College President Dr. Joi Lin Blake will resign this summer, after facing criticism over a recent budget report warning of the district's fiscal instability.This week the district's Governing Board approved the agreement for Blake to resign, which will take effect June 30. Blake was placed on leave following the Fiscal Crisis Management Assistance Team (FCMAT) report.Palomar Vice President Jack Kahn will serve at Acting Superintendent and President.
