Johnny Perri grew up in Michigan at his dad's jewelry store in Washington Township, J & M Jewelers. The lockdown due to COVID-19 not only took an economic toll on the business, but it also left Johnny bored, looking for somewhere to focus his energy. And then, he found it -- the perfect farewell to his late father's store and a chance for some adventure of his own. “Had the time of our life burying everything. It was awesome, man," he told 7 Action News. That's right -- Johnny and his wife Amy buried most of the store's inventory, all over Michigan. From metro Detroit to the U.P., you can find vintage engagement rings, precious coins, gold, and silver. Johnny guesses each buried treasure is worth around ,000. All told, he said he buried around million worth of treasure. And all of the treasure is up for grabs - for those who buy a ticket to Johnny's Adventure Quest, which starts officially on Aug. 1.Aside from a lot of fun, there's one thing Johnny wants people to get out of this massive treasure hunt. "Memories. Life is made of memories and that was our slogan here all these years," he said. Each treasure has a GPS tracker, so Johnny will know if they've moved. The Wauwatosa Police Department announced that a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to the mass shooting at Mayfair Mall.Eight people including one teen were shot by a suspect at Mayfair Mall Friday afternoon. All are expected to survive their injuries, according to police.Police speculate that the shooting was not a random act but came after an altercation.During the preliminary investigation, witness accounts identified the suspect as a white man in his 20s or 30s. That has now been changed.No photos or videos of the suspect have been released. Once informed that the person was underage, police decided not to release images of the suspect.Police did say multiple arrests have been made.The investigation is still ongoing.This is a developing story. MILWAUKEE, Wis. – This isn’t Hawaii or the California coast or even Florida. It’s Wisconsin where surfers don’t pray for waves, they work with what they got. “So, it could be a Wednesday night or a Sunday morning, so you got to jump on it,” one local Wisconsin surfer said. In a region known for beer, cheese, and very cold winter, the surf scene is growing and Jake Bresette is helping lead the charge. “I just love it, man,” he said. “Anytime I can get out into the water, whether it’s one foot or 10 feet, it’s always a good time.” More and more surfers are keeping up on a well-kept secret: with the right weather, the waves on the Great Lakes can be just that – great! Outside of the water, Bresette owns and operates Lake Effect Surf Shop in Milwaukee where he sells surf and skate gear and offers lessons to anyone who wants to learn how to surf. “Yeah, we actually do them with or without waves,” he said. “So, if there are waves that’s great, we’ll get out here and score some waves. But, if not, we’ll bring out some big paddle boards.” While introducing the sport of surfing to a new generation, Bresette always remembers to honor the local pioneers of the sport. “We didn’t start the surf scene here,” he said. “We’re just helping to continue the progression.” Bresette says the key to that progression is to get out when the surf is up. “I know it sounds a little cliché, but it is really about the journey as well as the success of finding waves,” he said.
