VIENTIANE, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping has expressed his willingness to advance the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Laos, a Chinese envoy said on Tuesday.
"The popularity of AIIB stems from its win-win nature as the bank serves to enhance connectivity among Asian countries by supporting infrastructure development. A prosperous Asia will offer huge markets for global enterprises, which are hungry for business opportunities, and will boost international economic growth," said Jin.
He said China knows parties have differences on the proposed new Security Council resolution, but the international community should make joint efforts towards a unified and clear direction.
This is the first time the State Council invited foreign experts to offer advice for a five-year plan.
Sabelo Gatsheni-Ndlovu, Director of the Archie Mafeje Research Institute and a professor at the University of South Africa, told Xinhua that the Sino-Africa relations developed and became stronger in 2015, highlighted by the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in early December in South Africa. It was the first time that a FOCAC summit was held in Africa.
