Police were called to the Washington, D.C. home of Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday night when a group of protesters showed up and shouted threats.Smash Racism D.C., which calls itself "anti-fascist," claimed responsibility for the protest on social media. The left-wing group has previously targeted Ted Cruz, Kirstjen Nielsen, and other right-wing figures.In videos uploaded to Twitter by the group on Wednesday, participants were heard saying "Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!" They called him a "racist scumbag" and hurled epithets.The Twitter account also shared Carlson's address, which is a violation of Twitter's rules. By late Wednesday night, Twitter had suspended the group, which means the tweets and videos are now deleted.Carlson told the Washington Post, "It wasn't a protest. It was a threat." He said "they were threatening me and my family and telling me to leave my own neighborhood in the city that I grew up in."Carlson was at his Fox News office across town, preparing for his 8 p.m. talk show, when the disturbance occurred. Police in Delray Beach, Florida are looking for the person accused of attacking a 60-year-old man with a skateboard Sunday afternoon. The victim told police that a younger man used a skateboard as a weapon after the two exchanged words just before noon in the Dotterel Road neighborhood.The victim said he and his wife were walking around their property when they encountered a young man in a dark t-shirt, baggy shorts and dark skater sneakers.The victim's wife told police that she took a picture of the suspect because they have had problems with young men on skateboards damaging cars in the parking lot.The man with the skateboard told the victim to move, but he refused.Police said the suspect swung the skateboard, missing the victim, who fell to the ground. As he got up, he told officers that he unsuccessfully tried to push the attacker away. However the suspect, holding the skateboard in both hands, hit the man on the left side of his head, leaving him with a cut on his left ear and swelling on his head. Delray Beach Fire Rescue treated the victim at the scene of the attack. 1163

PALM HARBOR, Fla. — A rare two-headed southern black racer snake was recently found at a home in Palm Harbor.Kay Rogers said her cat brought the snake into the home through the doggy door. The cat placed the snake on the carpet."She brings us presents all the time. This day, my daughter sent me a message. 'Mom, she brought in a snake, and it has two heads,'" Rogers saif. "I think this tops it, but she's an adventurous cat for sure."Rogers said her 13-year-old daughter, Avery, placed the snake in a plastic container. She said her daughter and her son like learning about reptiles."We went and got like a habitat setup for it. I was talking to a couple different reptile specialists and they were kind of helping me through what to do with him like getting him a heating pad and trying to feed him," Rogers said.The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission shared the story on Facebook. FWC said the phenomenon, bicephaly, is uncommon, but happens during embryo development when two monozygotic twins failed to separate, leaving the heads conjoined onto a single body.FWC says that both heads' tongue flicks and react to movement, but not always in the same way. Two-headed snakes are unlikely to survive in the wild, as the two brains make different decisions that inhibit the ability to feed or escape from predators."Because of the two head thing, he's very uncoordinated and couldn't get to the food very well. It was like one head would see the food and try to go for it, the other would be going the other way and pulling him back," Rogers said.The snake is currently being cared for and monitored by FWC staff."He was really an easy pet," Rogers said. I really just wanted to kind of see him thrive and have people that would take care of him and give him the best chance. I know, well my daughter's research shows they don't live well in the wild at all. People all across San Diego are breaking the law to ease parking problems in congested neighborhoods. They're either painting over red curbs to add spaces, or they're adding red paint to the curbs near their driveways to keep people from blocking them in.Either way, it's illegal and the city deals with hundreds of complaints each year on its Get it Done website and app. City officials say it's most common in neighborhoods like Hillcrest, Pacific Beach and North Park, where the population is dense, and parking spots are at a premium.San Diego Municipal Code 82.14 says "No person shall paint or otherwise mark any curb, sidewalk or street surface without first complying with the requirements of this code." Although city officials say it's tough to enforce because it's hard to prove who painted the curb. The San Diego Police Department wasn't able to provide 10News with details on what the penalties could be.An SDPD Spokesman did say anyone who gets a ticket for parking in a red zone that may be illegal can appeal the citation here.In 2017, the city dealt with 222 reports of illegally painted curbs on the Get it Done website. They try to respond to all of them. Already in 2018, there have been more than a dozen. Parler, an app launched in 2018, is now gaining popularity with some supporters of President Donald Trump in the wake of the election."My viewpoints are clearly being suppressed," George Borowski, who lives in Jupiter, said. "You can't tell me they're not."Borowski is a Parler user. He said his posts on traditional social media have been flagged."You put us on this island where it's like, 'No, no, you guys are in some sort of echo chamber,'" he said. "Um, no, I think what's happening is there is an echo chamber and Facebook is the echo chamber."Parler is an app gaining popularity with some on the right of the political aisle."We feel very much our voices aren't being heard and we can't have these conversations in this country," Borowski said. "You feel this suppression, so Parler was born out of this thought where you can go and not be censored."This surge in popularity follows recent efforts by Twitter and Facebook flagging what they claim is misinformation on their platforms."As a lot of tweets and a lot of Facebook posts from Donald Trump and his allies and even his family have been flagged on Facebook and Twitter from containing false information and inaccurate information about voter fraud from the previous election," Andrew Selepak, a social media professor at the University of Florida, said. "So what we're looking at is a lot of people who want to discuss this, and discuss it freely without posts being flagged, banned and not being able to be shared."Selepak said Parler has a fraction of users compared to Twitter and Facebook, but he noted the growth can't be ignored."The number of accounts in the past week has now doubled and we're looking at about 8 million users, which is a pretty significant jump for a platform that has only been around for about two years," he said.Selepak said critics of the platform call it an "echo chamber.""We've seen posts by QAnon or the Proud Boys or the Bugaloo that have been taken down and their accounts have been blocked by other platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and they're now able to go on Parler and be able to discuss topics and kind of spread information and ideologies, and that is creating some danger," he said. "Is there not any way to regulate it or have somebody checking on the misinformation being spread?"Selepak believed the lack of disagreement will ultimately limit growth."It's about the debate, discussion," he said. "People want to win.
